- I bought this as hurricane prep, because the last major hurricane we had roll through southwest Florida took out our cable internet for 4 months. Well Ian just rolled through, and here we go again! Rural living and there is barely cell service outside (like you need to go up on the roof and hold the phone above your head with your fingertips to send a text message). Normally we have gigabit cable and use WiFi calling and all is good. But when the cable goes down, especially for 4 months, it\'s carrier pigeons and smoke signals.I\'ve purchased other boosters for half the cost of this one in the past, and ended up returning all. Often they only support one or two frequencies only, inside range is restricted to right next to the indoor antenna or the same room, and outdoor antenna aiming is a guessing game requiring a compass, Cellmapper app, and a steady hand. This device solves all those issues and I wish I had bought it earlier. The free app allows you to easily adjust the antenna and see the results in real time, even when up on a ladder away from the indoor unit, so there\'s no guessing. Perfect alignment in minutes. As you can see, my signal levels are barely in the acceptable minimum threshold for this unit to work, yet work it does, and very consistently and reliably. And compared to more expensive units, it automatically amplifies all the carriers simultaneously, instead of locking to a single one. And one of the biggest issues with repeater units like this, signal loopback, is essentially a non issue with this unit. It gives you a clear indicator light to warn of loopback until you get the placement right, and even indicates various degrees. It\'s the only unit I\'ve found that will allow the average non-pro installer to get the most out of it and tune everything perfectly, and do so in minutes.Installation was an absolute breeze and all hardware and cables needed were in the box. Customer service is excellent, with instant answers from a live rep (even followup phone calls and a direct contact number, no automated prompts). You won\'t need it because it\'s so easy, but if you do, they are there and they\'ll contact you to make sure everything is good before you get a chance to contact them. For now I just threw this thing together after the hurricane, but I will be doing a proper permanent install soon. But ultimately, it\'s performance that matters. I went from no data (calls only) on Verizon to consistently over 50mbps 5G on barely any signal outside, and that\'s INSIDE my 2700 Sq ft home without even the secondary indoor antenna hooked up (just the main unit). And I went from sometimes (when I stand near a window) 1mbps T-Mobile 4g in the house to 15+ mbps 5G consistently. Both connections are now strong enough to make and hold a phone call from anywhere in the house, and can be used for data and hotspot in case of cable outage. And it improves the battery life on all my phones while they are home, since they don\'t have to work as hard to constantly hunt for a signal. And best of all, unlike WiFi calling or those cellspots that the carriers send you, it doesn\'t depend on home broadband to work, and it transitions active phone calls from tower to repeater and vice versa flawlessly and seamlessly without dropping the call, which is important if you live in an area where you have cell signal outside but not in and don\'t want to lose an active call every time you step into the house. If you live in the middle of nowhere, your city friends will be impressed that you have flawless 5G coverage inside your house and wonder how it\'s possible. Now keep in mind, you do have to have some sort of coverage outside for this thing to work. But at least in my case, I was able to mitigate that with altitude and essentially a clear line of site to the closest cell tower, even if it is out of range when at ground level. Only complaint I\'d have is lack of band 71 600mhz. It seems no repeaters on the market support this. If it did, I could probably get away with T Mobile home internet as my primary and save a whole bunch of money while still enjoying blazing fast speeds.Get a good solid pole to mount it on (pole mount for outdoor antenna included), walk around with the outdoor antenna on the cable first while watching the app, and find that ideal spot. Mount it, and forget about it. It just works.
- I ordered this a littler in advance of it\'s actual use. We\'re in the process of building a house along KY lake. Cell service is spotty at best, especially with ATT. (NOTE: I\'ll be switching shortly). on the main level of the home I originally got 1-2 bars, and sometimes none. In the basement, ZERO... in fact it had the buster signal of NO network. I haven\'t fully mounted the antenna yet, so I had someone hold the antenna and face it in the direction of the tower. ( knew this from previous research. ) Then I plugged it in.... it booted up, and My phone went to 5 bars, and all my notices started dinging. I had the inside antenna on the main level upstairs, so I did not not go into the basement to test it, however I\'m figuring it works fine, and if not, it has a port for another internal antenna. Now onto the the even better part. As soon as I purchased, within 5 days I got an email from a technician from HiBoost. He wanted to know if it was working. I mentioned I wouldn\'t be able to fully test it until a few later. He said no problem and he would check back later. Not only did he check in within a couple weeks, I got another message from 2 other support techs. Excellent follow through. No I can\'t comment on how support works if there is a problem, because it just worked basically out of the box. literally plug and play. Great device and service!
- With HiBoost we are now able to use our cell phone in our house. We live in a remote area of Pennsylvania and the cell signal strength went from 0-1 bar to 2-3 bars. Arron Fisher and Bruce Noah from Tech Support was very helpful in setting up the device to maximize the cell signal strength.
- I bought this booster for a pretty remote area with surrounding trees. I got excellent support from Bruce trying to make it work, but there just wasn’t enough signal there from the cell tower for the unit to work with. You have to have as least some minimal level of cell tower coverage for any booster to work. When we couldn’t get it working, Bruce sent me a prepaid mailing label and promptly refunded my money even though it was past the Amazon return date. This is a quality booster and you just can’t go wrong with this level of customer service.
- While this is a nice package, and I installed it easily, I have struggled for 4 months to make the system work correctly. It when into Alarm mode due to Oscillation loops (I could never get my Yagi antenna and bose booster far enough apart vertically, or so I thought.) It turns out that despite what the Amazon and Hi Boost people claim, This system is not for all US Carriers. It will not boost Mint Mobil\'s signal, at least in my area since it is carried on a TMobile tower which has assigned it to a frequency which the FCC has not allowed cell booster to use. Thanks for the great help which I finally requested and received from HiBoost\'s Bruce Noah who was honest enough to explain why my system would not work. I will be returning the whole thing once the snow melts enough for me to get up on my roof. HiBoost\'s Bruce Noah did everything he could to make their equipment work with Tmobile\'s tower which carries my Mint mobile signal. The issue is there, not HiBoost\'s equipment.
- We bought this about one year ago, not sure about it because we had been through 2 other brands before that did nothing. Surprise, this one worked great.Update: after a power outage the unit quit working although no other electronics were affected. Contacted support, Yoselin was great and got us a new one sent. Fantastic results, great company, great product.
- Had a issue with the first unit but contacted them and Noah shipped me a new one and it fixed the issues we were having. Now we have a near perfect signal.
