- Our 4G signal is consistently -120dBm, only when there is a special weather condition or a certain time of day do our phones lock on 4G and then the data rate is poor due to the weak signal. The user manual for this repeater says the received signal from the tower should be -100dBm or larger (the smaller the number the larger the signal). Even with our dismal signal, which often won\'t even find the 4G signal this repeat is working perfectly. We now have better than -100 dBm 4G signal, that is a least a 10X gain in signal, and well within any networks reception requirements. Our reward is an amazing; 400 times faster data rate over the 3G signal when my network provider is loaded and 50 times faster that the best 3G data rates I on occasion receive. As a test I started streaming HD video, and the 4G data rate was able to fill the data buffer as it played. The repeater is easy to setup, took less than one hour. I like the individual band adjustments, necessary so that the stronger 2G and 3G signals don\'t overdrive the repeater. The outside antenna is easy to setup pointing it is not that critical, just in the general direction of the tower. The product is of good size,it is rugged and substantial, it looks and feels like equipment for this price. Lastly even the packaging is well designed and each part is individually boxed and supported.I did scan the user manual, which does not come with the unit but can be downloaded to learn about how to set the repeater up. Tricks are: make sure the cables are uncoiled and run them so that the input and output cables do not cross. They need to be isolated from each other. The amplifier needs to be separated by walls from the internal antenna. The more walls the better. I moved my internal antenna four feet and I found my amplifier showed a red light, telling me I had reduced the input/output isolation. So if you have problems with isolation (my guess is this will be a common issue) you need to adjust your layout; for this reason try your layout before you do your final attachments.
- I almost returned this. We live in rural Wisconsin in heavily wooded hills. We are only 6 miles from an att cell tower but we could only get 1 bar signal strength at the highest point of our 2-story house (zero bars everywhere else). When we mounted the antenna to the highest point of our roof where we got the best signal it didn’t help much. So I was going to return it until my husband mounted it to a 50 foot pole and now we get 4-5 bars over our 3000 sq. Ft. House. Positioning of the indoor antenna and booster is important also. It has a huge impact on signal strength. Now even Verizon users get a signal and this is a dead area for Verizon. I think the nearest Verizon tower is 20+ miles away. Our neighbors have the cheaper weboost brand and also had to mount that one to a 30+ ft pole to get service but said the weboost works great too. Unless you mount these to a tall pole you probably won’t get them to work well in rural areas. The only reason I deducted a star is because they need to be mounted way above the trees (see pic) and because the coverage range is no where the listed range. This model is rated for small office building with range of 6000 sq.ft. My house is 3000 sq ft. I was hoping to get better coverage outside on the deck, porch, and garage but it doesn’t cover that far.
- This works great. I have over a 2400+ sq. ft. home and live close to a small airport that seems to interfere with our signals. My cell phone coverage was very spotty and I could only use my phone in a couple of areas in my home. We installed this and we have not had anymore problems with losing the signal and now I have a reliable cell phone. We did place the antenna on top of the house with an open clear sky and pointed towards the closet cell phone tower and placed the inside unit in the middle of the house so we could use it in all areas of the home.
- I bought this and compared it to the top-of-the-line boosters from Uniden and weBoost. I also ordered the Surecall Fusion 4home. I set up the indoor and outdoor antennas for optimum reception and cycled each unit through doing speed tests with a Macbook and wireless hotspot. I also did range tests indoors with a cell phone in various rooms. This booster was head and shoulders above the others. The range indoors was also the best. I live in the mountains and am at the absolute fringe of cell service with no bars outside at all and this booster gives 2 to 3 bars of 4g CONSISTENTLY. weBoost was the worst followed by the Surecall 4home then the Uniden with the Fusion5S winning the contest. You get what you pay for so stop pulling your hair out and just buy it.
- I gave this a perfect rating as it does exactly (and more) than expected for my situation. I have this set up at my cabin in Alaska 21 miles as the crow flies across flat taiga and muskeg with a bit of rolling hills thrown in to the nearest cell tower. Pretty much a straight shot. The Yogi antenna is up about 35 feet on a pole 10 feet short of the tops of the trees. The other end mounted on the front porch under the pitched roof. Without the booster I inconsistently get 2 bars 3G to one bar 4G in the Winter. 1 bar 3G or just Edge in the Summer. With the booster on I get 2 - 3 bars LTE consistently over a 1/4 acre inside and out of the cabin year-round.
- Works as advertised. We live in a rural area and are miles from anything. Inside the house we had no service at all and only had service outside in a few spot. Installed the Fusion5s in about 2 hours and all the phones in the house began to wake up. I dropped one star because I had hoped for more coverage in the house, I might have to add a second antenna to cover all 3300 sqft. All in all worth the money.
