- In terms of sound quality, this holds its own against Shanling\'s more expensive UP5 and FiiO\'s cheaper BTR5. The optical output is also a useful addition in a device of this size. However, despite using the same screen, body materials, and firmware base, this unit manages to look and feel worse than either. Fresh out of the box and before even touching the unit, the spotty and uneven fingerprint-resistant screen coating is immediately apparent, giving the appearance of randomly-sized circles covering the front and rear glass when any amount of smudging is present. The buttons, while better than the UP5\'s awkward play button, all feel extremely squishy and unresponsive. Combine that with an awkward UI with long menu timeouts you end up with a very slow and clunky experience overall. Hopefully the next model will be better.
