Cleer Audio ARC Open-Ear True Wireless Headphones with Touch Controls, Long-Lasting Battery Life, Touch Control, and Powerful Audio for Music, Podcasts, and More (Light Grey)
- I wanted to like this. They are very attractive ear... buds? The case is nice, the concealable charging cable is a nice touch. The music quality sounded wonderful. I purposefully bought these because I wanted an audio device that would stay out of my ears so I could still hear the world around me. I purchased bone conduction headphones before this and, while I enjoyed those too, they were drowned out by the outside world.Back to these, beautiful device with one glaring flaw. They hurt like heck. The attached picture demonstrates exactly where on my ear they hurt. If I let them rest on the outer most part of my ear then there\'s no issue but then I come back to the problem of not being able to hear my music over the sounds of cars or people talking. If I take the time to \'push\' the ear piece more into the ear so I can hear it, then that particular formation in my ear begins to scream at me no matter what orientation I use on the device.I keep hoping I\'ll \'get used to it\' but, so far that hasn\'t happened.
- I have purchased various brands of headphones. I have apple airpod pros, apple air pods, Bose, Jabra, OpenShoks. These are the headphones that I reach for most frequently. I understand that not everyone enjoys having a headphone collection, so I’d recommend these if I had to choose one pair.Function and Quality: These headphones provide quality sound. Because they are not in the ear canal, you aren’t getting that type of in ear sensation, but rather outside of the ear canal. I am a speech pathologist and hearing specialist so take my word, for it that these can truly save your hearing over the years if used at a reasonable amplitude. In terms of sound quality, I am clearing hearing highs, lows and mids with a solid amount of base. You can’t compare these to Bose because these aren’t in ear and fully covered so you are hearing ambient noise, which is the point of these open ear type of headphones. I’m very happy with the sound quality. I value good sound as I am the proud owner of Sonos speakers in my home, so I know good sound quality from poor sound quality. You won’t be disappointed.Price: At a $130 Price point, this is what I’d expect to pay for the quality. The inventors seem to be a small business in CA, who really value producing good quality products. With a one year warranty, rather than justo he 30 days return window with Amazon gives me some peace of mind.Comfort: These headphones are comfortable. It took maybe half a day to get used to, but once I got used to them, they felt very natural.Phone Calls: Having a small business, I am constantly on the phone, or on hold. Call quality is great. People report that I sound clear. I can hear all my conversations clearly. Call quality is solid. No issues here!In summary, these headphones provide good sound, expected price point for quality, good customer service, decent warranty. They have easily connected to my iPhone, Pixel 6 and IPad Pro. If you are seeking an open ear experience for exercising, needing to hear your kids, or any other reason you’d need to hear the ambient environment, I’d recommend these.
- I have tested four open ear headsets. Sony, did not stay in, returned. Shokz open run, very good sound, head band does not work well with winter jackets. Kept them anyway. Oladance, super comfortable to wear all day. Sound is about average. They have so far been my favorite. So Cleer, PRO:Of the four I\'ve tried, I can\'t even count the Sony, so 3 I tried out, these definitely have the best sound quality. They are almost as easy to put on as Oladance, and just as comfortable. Comes with attractive case. It is not a battery case it is just a charging case. But it\'s very slim and the cable is attached and wraps up neatly inside the case.CON:Shorter battery life compared to Oladance all day performanceThe first time I plugged in the case and set these up to charge they did not charge . I had to zip the case closed to make sure they actually were coming in contact with the charging points . (By the way it comes with a plastic liner which you have to remove from underneath each earpiece.) These were not as easy to pair with my phone. It\'s a two-step process and the first time I took them out after setting them up they did not automatically pair with my phone which both of my other two keepers do. Second day they did pair right away without having to fuss with them. The downside is if you\'re not actively listening to something, or on the phone, they shut off after 15 minutes. So I can\'t plan on wearing these all day just for the convenience of having my hands-free in case someone calls.I haven\'t yet decided if the pro outweighs the con enough to keep these. Or if there\'s some setting I can use to make them stay on all day. There is an app for your phone which you will need to download in order for these to pair. I suspect for the sound quality alone I\'m probably going to keep these. But they will not be my go-to on days where my hands are busy and I can\'t don\'t have time to keep fussing with what\'s going on with my earpiece.
- Sound quality is fantastic.First issue, battery life is just shy of an 8 hour work day, but they charge very fast and after 10-20 minutes of charging, they make it the full day.Second issue, comfort, the spring on the twisting part presses uncomfortably on the inside of my ear (might just be my ears unique shape), but I was able to superglue them open to where they rested just off the inside my ear. They no longer fit inside the charge case when closed but this is a minor issue for me.I highly recommend them to anyone. I used to use bone conduction Shokz, they were great but I got constant headaches from wearing them, which im told can happen in a low percentage of people that wear them for long periods of time. The Cleer Arc does not cause headaches for me because it is not bone conduction, but performs as good with very little sound bleed.
- Sounds great, only problem is that it disconnects when it wants. On phone calls.. Not happy about that.
- Only open earbuds with a good mic and sound quality. Problem is the case is big and doesn\'t even charge on its own. I would honestly like a case like that
