FiiO FH7 Headphones Wired Earphones Earbuds in-Ear High Resolution Deep Bass 1DD+4BAs Hybrid IEMs with DIY Sound Filters for Smartphones/PC/Laptop/Tablet (Black)
- I purchased these Fiio FH7 IEMs at the same time that I also purchased the flagship Fiio M11 Digital Audio Player. As I believe that this setup is a match made in heaven, I will be combining the reviews for both at the same time. If you are looking at one of these items, you should also be considering the other as the qualities of one also apply to the other. I have experience with several flagship (for a little while anyway, A&K comes out with a new flagship every 6 months :/) IEMs and DAPs, some more than 5 times or more the cost of these, and IMHO these IEMs and the DAP not only compete, in most cases they actually WIN even when not normalizing for cost.TL;DR is that I LOVE both the FH7s and M11, I mean WOW! I have several other Fiio products, and they have always been excellent \"for the money\", but with the FH7s and the M11, you can replace the \"for the money\" part with \"period, for any price\". Build quality competes with any of my other IEMs or DAPs (actually, with the FH7s, I think the build quality and included accessories beat all of my other IEMs! Only the iSine came close in the accessory department). The features of the M11 DAP is ALL THINGS, which very handily beat all of my other DAPs. Some of my better DAPs include the Sony ZX1, AK100, AK240, and iPod 160, where all but one of them cost at least 2 times more than the M11, and the M11 KICKS THEIR A**! HANDILY. I won\'t review sound as it is so subjective other than to say it sounds fantastic and I hear nothing wrong with any of my IEMs (pictured). Given the inclusion of an EQ, if you hear something you don\'t like with your particular paired headphones... just tweak it!Regarding the FH7s, I have included a pic comparing the size to some other common flagship IEMs(Roxanne Universal First Gen, UERMs, and Audeze iSine20s). Comparing all of these IEMs, if I could only pick one pair, it would be the FH7s, no question. It isn\'t that they sound better as all of these IEMs sound great, they are all just different. It is the FH7s sound fantastic with any music I tried with them (rock, industrial, classical, metal, grunge, pop, rap, R&B, house/trance, techno, folk, jazz, vocal focused, and more) combined with the fact that their included accessories are insane. Also, the FH7s are more comfortable and easier to wear than any of my other IEMs, mainly because of how light and small they are and where the included seven hundred ear tip options allowing for customization definitely helped. Also regarding comfort, I believe these have some kind of venting, as unlike my other IEMs that seal and feel uncomfortable due to pressure on the ear drum, these don\'t do that, yet somehow the bass is still amazing... and there isn\'t any detectable sound leakage. With my other IEMs, I know I don\'t have a good seal because the bass sucks. Not sure how these FH7s do that. Magic. Finally, if anything happens to my FH7s, I can replace them for much less $$ than any of my other IEMs. It would still be very painful to the wallet to have to get another pair, but much less so than a pair of Roxannes or UEs.As I said in the beginning, I LOVE this pairing of IEMs and DAP, it would be great if Fiio sold/packaged them together with some kind of custom case that accommodated both the player and the IEMs with the materials and construction of the hard case that comes with the IEMs. The included case is very nice BTW, I like it better than the metal cases that my other IEMs come in, which I used to think were cool, but those metal cases don\'t respect items around them in my bag. The included FH7 case does the same job protecting the IEMs but won\'t scratch up other stuff in the process.A single case to carry the DAP and these IEMs made in the same fashion would be sweet, where that case could be thrown in a backpack or luggage, and only one relatively big thing fish out. In the meantime, I am using a battery bank hard case I found on Amazon for like $8. Anyway, these things belong together, and I have no hesitation in recommending both of them!! They get ALL THE STARS :).
