FiiO UTWS5 Amplifier Bluetooth Earbuds Hook Wireless 96kHz/24bit High Resolution Bluetooth 5.2 Standard MMCX 30hrs Battery Life IPX4
- Hands-down the best bluetooth receivers I have ever used. The sound quality is absolutely unparalleled and the range is incredible (almost annoying). I can go to the other end of my house without it disconnecting. The battery life is good enough for my needs and it always seems to have enough power when I need to use them.sure, the app isnt great, but its pretty good, it just takes a little patience.YOU ALSO DONT HAVE TO USE THE APP SO IDK WHY EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT IT.the ambient passthrough is a nice feature and the controls are easily accessible. Amazing product, you wont regret it
- I use these at least 16 hours a day, 1 side at a time/8hrs aprox each. no lag, sound very good, syncs easily on iphone automatically. the holding case charges while in case. there are issues with any of these, but these are top for what they are.
- You want the TLDR? Here it is:The FiiO UTWS5 is the BEST way to power up your IEMs on the go without wires. On the other hand, the battery life for this isn\'t worth the hassle. Get it for the power, but be wary of the battery.I\'m not an \"audiophile\", but I do like my fancy toys. Connected my FiiO FH7\'s to the UTWS5 and it worked like a charm, giving it enough power to listen. There were ZERO problems that I encountered while listening to my IEM\'s.However, my issues stand with the battery life. After a couple of days, I couldn\'t seem to get each earpiece above 80% battery life. I cleaned the earpieces diligently every time I put them back, but the charging issues never seemed to go away.I\'m not going to talk about the FiiO app, because I\'m sure that it\'ll be improved in a couple of updates. Even though you can\'t go FULLY wireless QUITE yet, the future looks bright. For now, I\'d recommend that you stay tied to your wire for just a little longer. I\'ll be looking at items like BTR5/BTR7/ifi Go Blu for a compact, Bluetooth solution for my IEMs.
- Sound quality is great. Won’t go into details.Tip: ambient mode can be triggered by 3x taps on right ear. Same on left activates assistant. This is not mentioned in app or help guide but on their blog post for firmware release.Fit: It’s light, but a bit bulky and can hurt ears over time.App: terrible. It works, but it’s glitchy and slow. Thankfully you can avoid it completely once set up.Operation and lid annoyance. The box has to close completely or the headphones will be connecting to the device again. Close the lid and they go to sleep. This is nice in theory but causes issues. If the fit isn’t perfect and it can’t close - it’s gonna be trying to connect to your device and stay on even if inside the box.If the lid opens in a bag, or in any other scenario - it will turn them on.If you are using an adapter, get the L shaped one. They won’t fit inside the box otherwise and all the lid madness will ensue. That’s very, very annoying, as the lid isn’t the best at closing firmly and staying closed. Problem can be resolved by a rubber band but it’s annoying. Did I say it’s annoying? To Fiio:Please fix the lid issue. Only turn on headphones when taken out of the box - can be fixed in firmware. The lid needs to be firmer or locking too.If you can provide adapters or sell adapters it would also be great. I needed an MMCX to IPX to make it work. Would be great if I could buy it from you.
- These sounds much better than the Shure RMCE-BT2 I bough them to replace, and the range is better so I can roam my whole house connected to a PC in the office. BUT, the battery life is pretty poor. I don\'t think I get 3 hours when I\'m listening at high volumes? I\'ll have to do more accurate time tests, but one of the main reasons I was replacing the Shure bluetooth receiver/cable was the battery life was only a fraction of what is was when I bought it less than two years ago. I\'m not sure this FIIO unit is giving me as much battery life as the degraded Shure receiver does?!FIIO, your next version of these, the UTWS7 or whatever you call it should have TWICE the battery life of these if not more.
- The FiiO UTWS5 is a pretty unique device, and chances are if you\'re on this page you already know that. The sound this thing puts out is fantastic. There is plenty of power and the noise floor is not really a concern. However the software side of things leaves a bit to be desired.There\'s no real way to customize the button actions besides 3 different presets. The presets are ..okay, but its kind of unfortunate for a device like this. Along with that, there\'s also some bugginess while toggling ambient. Anything playing has a 50/50 chance of pausing and starting all crazy for 1-2 seconds after turning on/off. I\'m confident this will be addressed in future firmware updates. My unit also happens to have a defective microphone on the left side which leads to lower sound and buzzing while using ambient mode. Very annoying but it\'s hopefully just a fluke. This thing is really cool, and despite the issues I have, I definitely recommend picking it up if you have a quality pair of IEMs.
