JBL Quantum 810 - Wireless Over-Ear Performance Gaming Headset with Noise Cancelling
- Overall, I\'m very happy with this purchase. JBL is a brand that I generally trust when it comes to audio. The noise canceling function is okay. It isn\'t the best that I\'ve used, nor is it the worst. Gave that aspect 3 stars because it is middle-of-the-road.The sound quality is good and the ear pieces are comfortable, though they don\'t breathe very well. I primarily use these for meetings on Microsoft Teams. I find myself moving them off one ear if I\'m 3 hours into back-to-back meetings. I believe the auto-shutoff is around 4 hours, as I\'ve had them turn off mid-meeting before.I really like the dual mute option. There is a button, or you can flip up the microphone. The microphone could use a little more resistance in movement. I sneezed once and the mic fell back down to the \"on\" position. No one heard the sneeze, so not a big deal. I was just surprised that it didn\'t stay up. All-in-all, the mic stays where you put it (unless you have a violent sneeze). My biggest complaint might be more with Teams than the headset, but I\'m not sure. The headset has to be powered on BEFORE I join a meeting. If they aren\'t on and connected prior to joining, no one can hear me. I have to switch to the computer mic and then back to the headset. A minor inconvenience. My last headset could be switched on while connecting to the meeting and it worked every time. The noise canceling mic works amazingly. By comparison, my last headset seemed to pic up ambient noise and amplify it. They were great if the room was quiet, but anyone else talking sounded like they were in the conversation. These do what they say! Ambient noise does not seem to be picked up. I\'ve had kids playing and or talking loudly in the same room and people on calls do not hear them. To reiterate, that\'s kind of amazing!Battery life is adequate. I get about 2 days use on a charge. That\'s pretty good considering. On that note, I read that the cheaper JBL headset could not be used while charging. That\'s just dumb. These advertised that you can charge and use at the same time.A surprise feature that I LOVE is the dual audio source. I connected them to my phone via Bluetooth to test them out before connecting to my work computer via the wireless USB dongle. While on a meeting (and still connected to my phone) I heard my text notification from my phone while still on the call at work! You can even listen to music while people are going on about boring work stuff and never miss a beat (get it?)!I have not installed the software that is loaded on the USB dongle, so I don\'t know what customizations can be made. Another thing that I\'m still figuring out is the various audio level adjusters. I believe one is for mic and the other for incoming audio. Sometimes someone on a call will sound faint and I just roll one or the other until I get them to the proper volume. It\'s a nice feature, but I haven\'t fully figured out which adjuster controls which audio level. It\'s really good if you have someone who talks too loud... you can turn them down on the fly.In summary, they are great headsets! There are a few quirks, but those are easy to work around. The pros far outweigh any cons.
- HAHAHA I am totally tickled beyond pink into PURPLE!!!! I\'ve been singing since age 4 in the church choir, making music since sixth grade... aaaaand I\'m a dancer too boot!.. I\'m in my 50\'s now.. Near perfect pitch and all.. I can hear down to 1/16th semitone difference in pitch and up to at least 26K.. Excellent headset with lots of nice features.. The fidelity is JAWESOME! I\'m still charging it and am already in LURVE! JBL has alwaaaaays been good. Will most likely have more later.. I\'ve tested the surround. it definitely works. Most EQs on headsets don\'t even work.. You can actually hear this one change.. Amazing.. I would prefer a 16 or 32 or even a 128 band eq.. to be quite honest (At least an option in the settings).. just 8 bands is seriously lacking for the true audiophile and musician... While they aren\'t quite true over the ear headphone and slightly touch part of the auricle of mine, they are indeed comfortable.. You will really have to stretch them well if your head is larger than the default size and there is only a narrow part of the band which may be stretched, but it will flex all the way back just fine..The amplification is fine.. I\'m pleased.. I don\'t have to max it out like I did with my Nari.. I also like the fact it has an genuine physical on off switch instead of just a button. it\'s faster and easier to actuate and to find. If the headset goes into standby simply pull the power switch back towards you and it will wake. one side has a springy section.I also just discovered I can connect this to my PC and the phone at the same time without it just switching. My phone simply rings through.. Use the PC on wireless and the phone on BT.. Simply amazing work and just what I needed. I\'ve really wanted to get rid of wearing 2 headsets while I am at home. To reconnect BT after power off simply depress the Bluetooth button once while on and it will initiate a connect and then notify you through a tone.Testing the surround with Ready Player One and it is excellent.. The section of the movie where they do The Shining was a real test. when that baseball rolled on the floor I could hear every position perfectly. I definitely recommend this headset. TG it has been on sale.. really needed to replace my current one.On another note. I can kind of se why they haven\'t said anything about range... The wi-fi range of this headset is crazy.. totally huge. I can walk around 100\' away and only then lose connection.. Just what I wanted and needed. My last one could not even reach the kitchen and barely made it to another room. I cannot attest at this time to the BT range, but suspect it is similar.. So very Kewl.. Excellent headset.
- PROS: Great gaming headset with the expected JBL quality attached to it. I\'ve used JBL audio devices for a long time but never tried a gaming specific headset. I was surprised to see the options as far as EQ & surround sound. The QUANTUMsurround sound feature is pretty amazing for gaming and is accompanied with a couple other 3D sound options as far as immersive audio and sound direction. The EQ is your regular EQ but this headset has a save option so you can have multiple sound profile for different games/audio. As far as the connectivity I have not had a problem with any type of lag or connection with these headsets. Biggest PRO for the headset is the battery life. It can handle a 6-8 hr gaming session easily (I turned the light features off to save battery life). The added bluetooth feature to connect to other devices is nice as well.CONS: It isn\'t the most comfortable headset ever. It isn\'t \"uncomfortable\" but comparing it to my Corsair headset there is room for improvement. That may just be preference issues though. The headset has many options as far as volume and modes on the left ear piece, but the left ear gets a bit cluttered. I found myself changing between modes accidentally when all I was trying to do was lower/higher the volume. This will get better over time i\'m sure. It is a big headset. By big I mean I look like a fighter pilot. But again, that\'s just a preference thing.Quality wise this headset is pretty amazing for the price. JBL always makes legit products and this one is no exception. Buy with confidence
