SENNHEISER Momentum 4 Wireless Headphones - Bluetooth Headset for Crystal-Clear Calls with Adaptive Noise Cancellation, 60h Battery Life and Customizable Sound, Black (Renewed)
- Nice case, fits on my head well, isn\'t super plastic feeling, and simple touch controls. That being said; there is way to much bass, the high end is thin, and the touch controls activate when touching the sides of the headphones.Recommend buying second hand at reduced price and not full price.
- When you first listen to these cans they don\'t leave a great impression. That was how I felt after my first day with them, just listening while playing around with the equalizer and different levels of noise cancelleation. My biggest gripe was that they seemed to have NO sound stage, at all.Today was day 2, and I decided right off the bat to use the Sound Check feature in the app. Wow! What a difference. It opened up the width and depth that I felt were so lacking just yesterday. If you want to give these a fair chance to impress you, you have to do the Sound Check.I\'m an audiophile. I\'ll update my review after spending more time with them. Just do the Sound Check if you get these cans! Sorry for being pushy, but it really is essential advice.
- I previously owned a pair of WH-1000XM4 Sony headphones. These are fairly comparable in price and quality. I wouldn’t recommend these though. The website and reviews advertise a 50hr+ battery life. These lasted maybe half of that. They are refurbished, so I didn’t expect perfection, but I expected better. They are quite heavy on my head. It was hard to wear them for very long (2+hrs).The sound quality is great. I felt very happy with it. You can adjust the EQ to your liking - if you don’t it’ll be subpar. The noise cancellation was OK. It cancels out small background noises but not speech and cars even at full volume. Not as good as I hoped. The touch controls were intuitive but not implemented well. It would tend to skip or rewind when I would try to change the volume.Lastly, the Bluetooth was pretty bad. It would randomly disconnect. For a new pair that is unacceptable.
- Looked and packed like brand new. No firmware or tuning issues I\'ve noticed. Maybe just got lucky. Wonderful cans, especially at the renewed price.
- I feel extremely bittersweet about these headphones as the first two weeks with them I absolutely loved them. In terms of headphone and audio experience, they were excellent. However, these headphones have some pretty serious and recurring firmware issues(check reddit for more details). Mine completely broke after two weeks of extremely careful use. I have put in 4 service requests by now and have had an extremely difficult time getting any help from sennheiser. their product service page doesnt even have an option for momemtum 4\'s and their only response so far has been \"did you try pressing the power button?\" On top of this, even if I were to be able to request a replacement, I would have to pay to ship them back to sennheiser and wait 2-4 weeks to maybe get them back.If you\'re looking for reliable headphones that last you a while, definitely look elsewhere. Sennheiser will not be there to help you if anything goes wrong, and it probably will. they brag about the 60+ hour battery life, but that really means nothing if the headphones don\'t even last a month. As an audio engineer, I\'ve been a huge fan of sennheiser but their consumer audio products are simply a waste of time and money.
- Noise canceling effectiveness only satisfactory.
- I\'ve been using it as a wired pair of headphones since all the issues I read about online had to do with bluetooth or touch controls. There\'s no issues if you don\'t use any of it\'s advertised features. After two weeks, I made the terrible mistake of turning on ANC (active noise cancelling) because of my neighbors having terrifying amounts of sex. Turning on ANC is a 1 second action where you move your fingers outward from the center of the touch-pad in a diagonal fashion. I did this, snapped my finger to test, and was very impressed. The headphones then turned off and have not worked since, in the 2 days I\'ve been troubleshooting them with the Sennheiser reddit\'s resources for this models VERY explored issues and the manufacturers website.TL;DR: Read the title
- have both momentum 3 (personal) and 4 (work) - voice quality is particularly important) love the battery life on 4 but prefer the build quality on 3
