58-60 inch TV-ProtectorTM TV Screen Protector for LCD, LED, OLED and QLED 4K HDTV
- Like many others, we bought one because our kids have broken 2 TVs in the past 4 years. Considering this is just a piece of clear plastic, it seems somewhat expensive. However, if this keeps the TV\'s screen from being damaged until my kids are out of the house (10 more years!), it is probably worth the trouble. So far it seems to work well that it does not seem to affect the image quality. When the TV is off, the screen does reflect, considering the screen itself is black and non-reflective. It has not been a major issue for us since we usually turn off the lights behind us. If your room is well lit, try before accepting it for good. Our TV is of 58 inch (Samsung 7100 series) and its stands have legs that stick out. Thus the protector needs to be raised so as not to sit on the legs to keep it from bending. To raise the protector, the package includes two 3x1 in. (ish) foam pieces that can sit on top of the TV. The weight of the protector helps it sitting on the foam spacers. However if your TV has thin bezel all around, this is not a secure way to install it. You need to use the provided Velcro strips (with sticky tape) to secure the protector on both sizes, and you can add more Velcro if so desired. After all is done, I found that the styrofoam piece that came with the package can also work as spacer, and due to its length, it may provide an even more secure way to raise the screen. So you may want to experiment before proceeding. Once you get it set up, you may not want to mess with it too much or the tape may come off. Velcro is used so in theory you can remove the protector for cleaning. I hope I don\'t have to do this often ...
- This plastic screen has done an excellent job of protecting our 59\" plasma wall-mounted screen from our toddler. It has endured several strikes from light projectiles tossed by our kiddo. Also, it doesn\'t interfere with the picture quality in a noticeable fashion. This however comes with Velcro to hold the screen onto the TV\'s bezel. That is useless after a while. After the TV heats up and is on for a while, the Velcro tape\'s glue backing just lets go. Even after adding heavy duty Velcro from the hardware store, all the way around the bezel, it still fell off (creating a couple of scratches on the protector itself). Mind you, the Velcro stayed attached to itself, it simply pulled off the glue and detached that way. What I ended up doing was building a small tray (like a chalk board/white board chalk/marker tray) right below the TV, and now the protector rests on that, and the Velcro keeps it attached to the TV.Given the simplicity of the screen protector, and the complexity of having to build a special shelf to make it hold up to the forces of heat and gravity, I would probably buy an appropriately sized sheet of 1/8\" plexi-glass/acrylic direct from a manufacturer or sign store and save about $100 bucks, knowing that I\'ll have to build my own mechanism.
- We had just bought a 60\" LCD TV and we have two small children so we needed something to protect the screen. Our two year old loves to throw things so this seemed perfect. He also always has to touch everything. So the screen protector is good for keeping his fingerprints off the actual TV screen. He can also throw hard objects at the TV even though he\'s not suppose to he has and this has been a lifesaver. He once threw a golf ball at it, I think he found it outside because I certainly don\'t let him have golf balls. When we first got this I tried to scrape a sharp knife across the protector and I couldn\'t even scratch it, this thing is that good. The only thing I can that\'s negative about this was the little sticker Velcros attached used to hang this on the TV, although they work really well we had to keep trying to get the protector on the TV several times because there would be little parts of the sticker hanging out and really it\'s only a minor detail. The sticker Velcro attachments hang the protector pretty decently onto the TV, our son hasn\'t been able to pull it off yet. All in all I think it was a good investment.
- My 2 year old son launched a hard plastic ball into the screen of my 60 inch Plasma and fractured the screen. Before buying a new television I searched for a screen protector. I was worried when I received this product that it might look bulky on my wall mounted TV or that it would fit awkward of make the picture look less appealing than without it. My worries were unfounded. This product has a lip over the top of the TV and small velcro attachements on the front. It also has a safety strap for around the back I assume for is a small child might try and pull the protector from the TV. The edges of my panasonic viera (thanks Amazon for a great price and prime shipping!) are very slim and black. The velcro blends in perfectly. The protector doesn\'t extend past the sides and really blends in perfectly up on the wall. The picture through it looks great. If you stand directly to the side of the TV you can see the protector, otherwise it almost appears to actually be the screen of the TV. I\'m very happy with the product and shipping by the seller. I\'d buy the product again for another TV.
- Thing only bad thing about this product is the tiny strips of velcro. They do nothing to hold it in place. I had to replace them the next morning.
- I do like the screen protector - it is hardly noticeable on my television. I can not give it a higher rating as I do not know yet if it will protect the television from a thrown object as nothing has been thrown at it and hopefully nothing will be. Also, there was one tiny little scratch on the protector when we received it but it is not visible when the TV is on so it is not something I am concerned with. We did have one other issue as our TV has a little camera on top making it difficult to mount the protector but we were able to come up with a solution for that. However the manufacturer may want to make protectors that accommodate that situation. So far all is well. Thank you.
- We purchases a new TV and one of our kid tossed a plastic Easter egg and it bursted the LEDs. So we had to get another tv just after 3 months. Once I found this cover it was a no brainer to purchase this protection.
