- This is an extremely well made and very sturdy cable. I was using a 300 dollar cable I purchased that was a 2.5mm Balanced TRRS cable to MMCX. I am not a big fan of adapters with the exception of XLR Balanced cables as not too many reasonable priced players or equipment are set up for XLR headphones.I have purchased a few different aftermarket cables for my Astell&Kern players and with the exception of the 300 dollar one they have not made a noticeable upgrade. I only got balanced audio but not much sound improvement. Most of them have been tiny and they come apart fairly easily. This cable is nothing like the cheaper made cables. The steel plug and the wiring is much higher quality and a lot thicker than the cheaper versions that I have purchased in the past. The main Jack is solid and does not unscrew like cheaper cables. The ear holders are stiff enough that you don’t need a slide to hold them in place nor do they become uncomfortable for long periods of listening. The MMCX connection between the earbud and cable is tight but after it snaps in place it swivels easily. Just make sure you are not forcing the earpiece on the cable at an angle or misaligned. I ruined a pair of Shure 535s by trying to force the earbud onto a cable. It cost me almost as much to have one earbud repaired by Shure as a set of new ones are now.I bought this cable primarily for the TRRRS 4.4mm headphone Jack and the way the Kahn Alpha is designed in a manner that you get the best sound from this kind of jack with no noise or any other issues. I think many people believe that wire is wire but it is not the case. I thought the same thing until I upgraded my home Surround Sound system. I changed out the cheap speaker wiring on my home set up with Kimber 8VS speaker cables and it sounds like a completely different sound system. That is what this cable did for my Shure SE846s.I am currently using this cable with my Shure SE846 earbuds and they have never sounded better. I am noticing that I can hear stuff in the sound field that I never noticed before. Part of this may be that the Kann Alpha plays back MQA format from Tidal. I have an MQA set up at home that requires a computer and a separate DAC decoding unit to playback my Japanese MQA CDs. This portable set up actually sounds somewhat better as on my home setup I am using a pair of Focal Utopia headphones which I think are way overpriced. My Beyerdynamic Tesla first generation headphones sound better actually.I would highly recommend this cable as well as any of the cables that are made by this company. I thought my Shure SE 846s sounded great already but I’m really impressed with the handmade craftsmanship and detail to attention in making it extremely sturdy and very well designed. I am also impressed by the sound quality of this cable and what it has brought out in my Shure earbuds that was missing from the 300 dollar custom cable. The 300 dollar cable is a great cable as well and will get used on another player.You just can not beat the craftsmanship of this cable for this price margin! This cable is solid and I am extremely impressed and pleased with how well it is made as well as how much of a difference it has made in my sound quality!
- The installation of the new cable to my Shure headphone was a disaster. I was able to put the right one in easily but the left one… the tip was slightly bent and after a timer to I gave up because I didn’t wanna mess up my Shure headphones. I have installed new cables time and time again over the years and never a problem like this.

- These are the highest quality cables I\'ve personally had hands on. They are far superior than anything else I ordered, and I\'ve ordered quite a bit of cables in search of that one cable. This is that one cable. I could have saved hundreds in multiple Brandon cables that promised (high fidelity) and, like everything else, failed to deliver and created a +$4 Trillion deficit. Needless to say my wife Nancy wasn\'t happy and, being the proclaimed smarter of the bunch, found out we could just borrow from the Federal Reserve at zero cost.What they did to the piece that loops around the ear works. I wear my hanging over and down my back and they stay in place with out having to constantly squeeze them, like the Shure replacement cables.I\'ve got these on a balance 4.4mm. I turn up the power in order to ensure that when Nancy removes her teeth and sips wine out of box through a straw that I don\'t hear what she is saying. The quality of the cables really shine during these moments where I sit and give them a fine inspection in order for Nancy to believe that I am just bowing my head down in shame of the ratchet women sitting next to me sipping wine through a straw without any teeth. This is where a power amplifier and dedicated Digital Audio Encoder can come in really handy.I bought the 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter as well. I need the versatility to run my Shure\'s between a balanced amplifier and either my Android or iPhone. The adapter works very well and made of the same material and quality. The connectors are like the paste Nancy uses to hold dentures in place, but on steroids and actually work. It\'s been too often that Nancy\'s dentures start floating when she\'s talking or simply fallout. Not to shame her for her dentures falling out, but the smell from her lack of cleaning them scared my dog away and we haven\'t seen him now for over a year. I have no idea how Nancy\'s cat puts it but I\'m sure probably not thinking of Nancy as a pet owner but maybe a near future dinner based on the deathly smell that comes out of mouth.I\'d definitely recommend these cables to friends and family. They are pricey but if quality is what you want, these seem to be the one. If you need help financing, Nancy will be tied up with Brandon and the best way to reach her is leave her a message in her SF office.Just bought a pair of balanced cables for my Audeze LCD-X because I like these so much and Nancy printed some extra money to put up a new concrete and steel security and privacy fence around her Estates that it shouldn\'t impact the extra Trillion or so dollars.Feel like the luckiest man alive...have an outstanding set of cables and music I can play real loud to drown out Ratchet Nancy.
