  • Pros: I tested with a USB 3.0 flash drive and it seems to work well.Cons: No manual, so I didn\'t buy the right product. The reason I bought it was to power high powered equipment, because I assumed I was getting electrical isolation, but unexpectedly there are wires that run the entire length of the cable to power the device. I thought since it advertised USB 3.0, it should work with USB 2.0, but apparently not on the host side. So you are left wondering about compatibility: What host side USB ports should work? 1.0,2.0,3.0,3.1? What devices are compatible? What is maximum current draw? Can I open the device side, cut the conductors and power it remotely?
  • Seem that have some of 2.0 backward compatibility, but USB hub(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GSLMTQ8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) not fully working. Most of devices have trouble(hang/not working/not recognized) but only keyboard and mouse which low bandwidth device. If you want that 1:1 link, this is cheaper solution, but if you looking for any full function optical link, this is definitely not a solution. You must find out Thunderbolt solution(Thunderbolt optic cable and TB Dock). One thing really wanna tell you that, this problem(not working with multi-port consumer hub) is not a only the problem of this item, but EVERY SINGLE USB 3.0 OPTIC CABLE\'s problem. Trust me, I\'ve tried many of AOC in the market to find proper cable. But only working product is thunderbolt optic with TB dock.
  • This cable is great. I needed longer than the 16ft USB limit for my USB 3.0 camera to reach my USB 3.0 equipped PC at my astronomical observatory and this thing works just great. It will not work at all with any USB 2.x device. It says it is is USB 3.0 and it is, and when doing that it works perfectly.
  • Doesn\'t work with most devices !!!
  • Works great. It was only intended to work with usb3 devices. I use this with a USB 3 hub to connect to two astrophotography cameras.Be aware that USB 2 devices do not work.
  • Bought this to work with a very small webcam. Doesn\'t work at all. Confirmed the webcam was working with old cable and 2 different sources. This doesn\'t come with any instructions, indicator lights or anything but the cable and short USB cable for power. I had high hopes for this but will be looking for a different solution.
  • Does not work, But thats what I get from buying it here @ AmazonThe one purchased from Sewell Direct works perfectly.
  • I bought this directly from Sewell because Amazon was out of stock. Sewell\'s website says this will work with 2.0 peripherals as long as the transmitting device/port is 3.0.Welp, turns out that\'s not correct. It won\'t work with *any* 2.0 devices. Mice, keyboards, webcams, etc. Works fine with 3.0 devices though.I contacted Sewell first level support for the return and asked them if they had a QVL (qualified vendor list) for 2.0 devices they had tested that worked and they said no, they didn\'t. Didn\'t bother to pursue with second level support. Sewell does make a device that works fine with USB 2.0 (check their website) it\'s just not as elegant as this cable. (it has boxes at both ends and works with Cat 6 cable.
