PAN’S Scheme Snap Filter Magnetic Phone Lens Filter Compatible for iPhone 13pro max, 12 pro max, with Magnetic Base,ND Sets,Carry Case(ND Bundle)
- This is a well constructed, easy to use system to enhance your iPhone photos and cinematography. The MagSafe filter is very clever, extra stable and well built. Be sure to order the kit that fits your phone exactly, as the iPhone 13 Pro version will not work with the larger iPhone 14 Pro Max. This is the easiest way to add anamorphic looking flares to your shots, without relying on heavy cases and lenses.
- This set includes the must haves for the avid phone photographer. Itd be nice if the mount was case friendly just for the reassurance, but for the quality outcome its low on my list of priorities.
- The Pan\'s Scheme Snap Filter system deserves five stars just for thinking out of the box. Finding a way to leverage the iPhone MagSafe system to facilitate quick and effective lens filters is a potential game changer. I\'m getting a bit ahead of myself, but the really cool thing about it is the ability to quickly and easily switch from one filter to another.Pan\'s Scheme is a spinoff of the Mediastorm interactive studio and their debut product was funded with campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. It took a lot of testing and prototyping but the design is the big story here. The two key parts are the base that snaps onto the back of the iPhone magnetically along with the filters that slide into the base and lock in. The filters: Cross-star, Gold Streak, Blue Streak, Black Mist and a ND filter bundle with -2/-4/-6/-8 stops. This package contains the whole she-bang along with a leather storage case. As you\'ve probably figured out by now, the filters currently are limited to the MagSafe enabled iPhones (12,13,14 IIRC). They fit great on my 14 Pro Max and will also work on the 12/13 Pro Max. You can also order them for the 12/13/14 Pro.As far as the performance of the filters and what you can do with them that is a work in progress--not only for me but from the sound of things from the entire iPhone photography ecosystem. It\'s tough to review a completely revolutionary product by the same metrics that you\'d use for something well established. There\'s a few clear issues that will need to be resolved going forward. The most significant is arguably the most obvious: the filter system doesn\'t work with all MagSafe cases. I tried it with two cases I have--it worked with one and not the other. I don\'t mind going \'case-less\' if necessary but not everyone will concur. A bigger problem could be perception: the perception that case compatibility is \'hit & miss\' makes a product at this price point a tough sell. Since the filters are sold in various bundles and not individually this is all the more problematic. As it is, there\'s not a relatively low price way to \'try out\' the concept. You have to pay the freight and dive in to some extent. That said, this sure feels like a revolutionary product. Seriously transformational products have to not only \'work out the kinks\' but find the most effective situations for their use. I can\'t recommend these categorically but if you don\'t mind the fact that you\'re buying into something of an experiment they\'re fascinating to tinker with. The design itself is epic and based on that alone I highly recommend it to any \'early adopter\'.
- I use a Smallrig iPhone Universal cage (see photo) and have been frustrated at the lack of an acceptable solution for filtering. Clip-on filter holders partially obscure the view screen (worse, they interfere with on-screen controls). The case-based holders don\'t work for me because my phone (13 Pro Max) doesn\'t fit into the cage with a case, at least without undue force. I\'m also not particularly a fan of single lens approaches, aside perhaps from anamorphic lenses. The Pan\'s filter design by AndyCine solves both major concerns, The aluminum filter holder pops on and holds magnetically, with the filters sliding in and locking to cover all three lenses. My phone fits in the cage with the filter holder mounted without any problem.Quality is excellent. Fit and finish is perfect and I haven\'t detected any issues with the filters themselves in terms of optical quality. The case, unfortunately, will not hold the full filter set. I opted to leave out the star and mist filters, putting the blue and gold flares and the ND filters in the case, as I\'m more likely to use those on any given day. The case is roomy, holding both the filters and holder. Notably, the filter hold is also held magnetically within the case and it doesn\'t move around. Filter pockets in the case are designed to show the filter type icons engraved on the filter frames. It\'s a little awkward getting a filter out of its pocket, but not a deal killer. The pockets cover 100% of the actual filter, however, which is good. The one downside to filters that cover the phone\'s entire lens area is that autofocus can be affected, depending on which filter is mounted as well as conditions. Dim light conditions combined with a scene using dim practicals with a flare filter is a good example of this. Most of the time I can work around the problem in a number of ways, though. So far I\'m really happy with the solution that Pan\'s provides. Everything is well-made. It\'s optically good. Storage provisions are good. Swapping filters is easy, and it improves the functionality of my cage.Big win all around, with caveats noted.
- This is a great kit from pans. Easy to install with MagSafe magnetic connection to iPhones. Easy to use different filter. The is package came with multiple storage boxes for all filters and a great bag to hold the all the filters and the pan’s back plates. We
- Very easy to use. Will update as they are used more.
