- Let’s face it…. Headphones are for audio fidelity. Everything else is secondary. These aren’t superior in NC. The battery last a little less than Bose 700s. But I bought these for listening to music and movies. These flew to the top of my chart for headphones. Separation, clarity, bass … this headphone set is the closest I’ve ever heard to mimicking a home stereo system. Can’t even find the words. I have Beats, Sony, Bose, IPod Max…. My Parrot Ziks were my favs, they just got knocked out, in the first round. My B&O will still be a go to for NC. But I am thinking that the audio will be worth sacrificing superior noise cancellation. Yamaha set a new standard in wireless with these. Bravo. This was money well spent on headphones. I may never buy another set, Unless these crap out and break my heart.
- Very good sound, sounds for me better then any bang and Olufsen headphones ...But unfortunately they sit too loosely on my head and fall when I tilt my head down...
- Perfect for the home theater enthusiast who wants serious 3D sound after midnight. This is as close to the Holy Grail of home theater 3D surround-in a headphone as you will find. My home theater is a SONY XR 83-A90J flagship OLED and the Yamaha flagship RX-A8A AVENTAGE AV receiver. During the day I run 11.2 Paradigm Prestige speakers and at night I use the Yamaha YH-L700A 3D sound headphones giving me the best of both home theater surround sound experiences. I spent a year researching home theater headphones and this is the first and only product that meets my criteria. Most 3D headphones have been discontinued because they require an HDMI, Arc, or eArc connection which means compromising the receiver\'s audio or video pass-through. 3D, or spatial audio, technologies are the biggest thing to happen to home cinema and music listening since surround sound. Yamaha calls the spatial audio feature 3D Sound Field with head-tracking. It is better than Apples spatial audio on the AirPods Max, which requires an Apple device like an iPhone or Apple TV 4K, plus the support of streaming apps like Apple Music, Netflix, or Disney+. Yamaha’s DSP technology is much more universal. The headphones can convert traditional two-channel stereo into a 360-degree sound field at the push of a button and choose between seven 3D sound modes depending on what you’re listening to. These include Cinema, Drama, and Music Video (for video content), Audio Room and Background Music (for music), and Outdoor Live and Concert Hall modes (for performances).
- Performs audio as one would expect from Yamaha.2023 update: Yamaha still hasn\'t fixed the software to raise the voice assistant volume or allow volume control of the voice assistant, hasn\'t fixed the noise cancelling helicopter. Support ticket basically brushed off. Lowering my rating to 2 stars awarded only for the audio quality.(revised)Noise cancelling is sub-par and was a let down given the high cost. I also noticed some sound fluctuations at times, almost similar to the \"helicopter\" noise you get in a car with the back windows down. (This issue persists) The ambient sound seemed constant so it was a bit annoying the headphones would do that.They can be difficult to fit with a good seal and tend to shift if you\'re heads down, like viewing a tablet on an airplane meal tray.The sound quality is very good. The 3D surround is OK but the spatial head movement and \"dialog lift\" or whatever it\'s called that\'s supposed to place the voices at the screen and not at your head is questionable at best. Gimmicky and wears battery faster.The voice notification is unbearably quiet in a loud (airplane) environment. I almost cannot hear the voice when changing modes, etc. (no update or fix after one year of complaining to support).My biggest disappointment is that you cannot use them while plugged in to charge. Unbelievable. (You can use the wired connection while charging).Revised: - My bad for not knowing I could simply plug the 3.5mm jack into the single 3.5mm jack on the plane. - Second disappointment is the included airplane audio adapter DOES NOT FIT United Polaris seat audio. Haven\'t checked other seating yet, but not being able to use these with the large format screen on a recent 7 hour flight was a let down. Unbelievable.As much as I loathe B* audio products, I probably should have just gotten the (cheaper) B*.
- These are without any doubt the deepest Bluetooth headphone listening experience I\'ve ever had. They\'re definitely tilted toward the low end, which is great for me and anyone who listens to deep electronic music or Reggae, Dub Reggae, Rap, Ambient etc. I\'m sure they\'re amazing for watching movies, and cinematic music soundtracks as well. They\'re absolutely crushing it in the bass department. The highs are detailed and crisp, but I wouldn\'t call it a \"V\" shaped sound signature, more of an \"L\" shape because the midrange is not recessed at all. These headphones sound FULL and engaging. I expect they\'d work on any genre. Listened The some Vivaldi on them last week and got completely sucked in. The Bluetooth range is the best of any set I\'ve owned. Better than B&O h9i, and better than Bowers and Wilkins PX for example. I walked all around my house and you kinda forget they\'re wireless because there are just no issues. I don\'t have much else to say. Oh yes, one more thing. They can get loud. Really powerful amp inside them which is important on older albums mastered more quietly with high dynamic range. VERY important for getting a good listen on older nicely mastered albums. Bluetooth sets usually don\'t have enough volume for that. These DO. They\'re expensive, but there\'s a reason. I love them, they\'re excellent. Recommend
