Aftershokz Titanium Bone Conduction Wireless Bluetooth Headphones with Brilliant Reflective Strips, Slate Grey
- I have used these headphones for a year and a half now.I\'m going to start with the warning for this product that I wouldn\'t quite consider cons.1) They take a few weeks to get used to. They hang on a part of your ears that you may not be used to having something on which can irritate it a little at first. This does go away as you get used to wearing them.2) It\'s a very different way of listening to things. It\'s strange at first listening to something while still being able to hear your surroundings. This can make it tough to concentrate on what you\'re listening to at first, but it does get better and you adapt to be ale to focus on what you need to and when!3) Depending on what all you wear on your head it could conflict with some things, but myself and others I know that own them wear them just fine with glasses, but it can be tricky or impossible if you have to wear something like goggles or something that really has to strap around your ears/neck.4) The microphone is as good as any earbud, maybe a little better because it\'s closer to your head than earbuds that might have the mic hanging below your chin. Now on to the actual Pro\'s and Con\'s:Pro:1) first and foremost these are headphones. So do they work? yes, you can hear everything very well You\'ll never get that Isolation you get from in earbuds or over the ear headphones but the sound quality and range is very good.2) I\'m not a fan of having things in or on or covering my ears. I admit I enjoy this way more than I thought I would.3) Once you get used to it after the first few weeks it\'s pretty comfortable in my opinion. I wear these every day for 8+ hours and don\'t have any irritation with them.4) They hold on to your head very well. I\'ve never had an issue with them falling off or feeling like they\'re going to fall off. They stay right where they\'re supposed to.5) The bluetooth technology used for these is great. I can connect to both my phone and computer and it swaps between the two with ease automatically depending on what I\'m currently doing.6) Their customer service is fantastic. The band recently broke on my near the front and when I put in a warranty claim they sent out a new pair with no hassle. This was a year and a half after purchase and within the 2 year warranty.Cons:1) This may seem dumb, but audio quality again. but for different reasons. while it sounds good. If you turn it up loud you get a LOT of vibration on your ears very noticeable and could irritate people.2) The concept of them coming with earplugs misses the mark in my opinion. These headphones do have speakers so putting earplugs in will muffle and lessen your ability to hear what\'s playing. You won\'t be able to mow the lawn with these. Well you can, but you won\'t be able to hear music or whatever you listen to very well over the mower and what the earplugs also block out. Just put in noise cancelling earbuds for loud projects.3) This is a little nit picky but when it comes to charging this doesn\'t come with an adapter, just the cord. Also after a while the charging port cover on the headphones will buckle and not lay flat over the port.4) You can\'t really lay down with them. The headband is shaped. So the back has space between the band and my neck. If I lay down with them on it pushes the back of the headband down which lifts the speakers up at my ears making them not fit right. They can still work like this but it does effect the quality that you\'re able to hear.In summary, I really do love this product. It\'s great when driving, walking, working. Any scenario where you\'d like to listen to something and still be aware of your surroundings it gives you that sense. You can take it off your ears as well if needed and just let it hug around your neck. As I said I\'ve never had a problem with them falling off or even feel like they might. It\'s much more of a everyday use device than a dedicated music device. You use it in a different way than noise cancelling earbuds. That being said. Just as I don\'t like things in my ears. Some people may not like something just to the side of their ears. People are different and that\'s ok.
- This helps my ears to hear my recordings that I produced
- I\'m not sure why there is a noise cancellation rating on this product. I don\'t think this was ever designed to cancel out noise. I suppose if you used this with the ear plugs it might actually work a lot better for noise cancellation but it\'s more like noise stoppage than cancellation. I\'ve noticed that with the ear plugs that it comes with the sound is much clearer and you actually get a pretty good bass sound which others have complained about it lacking. So if you think there is no bass try using the ear plugs. Here is my review of the product and why I purchased it.Price: I found the price of this product relatively low compared to other products. It\'s still a bit higher than some but I\'m glad the price point is bellow the $100 mark.Wearing it: So this is a little awkward, I think this is the only part where it just isn\'t super comfortable. I\'ve worn it on a 100 mile bike ride and rarely noticed it, but I think my focus on that ride was elsewhere. I found that if I put my helmet on first with the chin strap, then my glasses, and then the headset that works best... if you try it any other way it seems to dig in a little too much if you know what I mean. Shorter rides I notice it but after a while I just forget about it or seem to ignore it. Could it be more comfortable? Absolutely. Is it unbearable? No.Sound Quality: The sound quality was surprisingly good. I really wanted to try before I bought it. But nobody seemed to have one on display for me. But to my surprise and despite the reviews I actually really liked the sound and using the ear plugs makes it even better. So mowing the lawn has never been better! However without the ear plugs I find that I can ride my bike and listen at a comfortable setting while still being able to hear my surroundings, cars approaching, other cyclists... etc. In fact since this is bone conducting I can distinguish lyrics better. I\'m in my mid 40\'s and slightly losing my hearing, I\'ve noticed that with these I can actually hear the lyrics better and more distinctly pick up certain tones that otherwise I\'m hard of hearing.Overall satisfaction:I\'m overall satisfied with the product and have recommended it to several others. I will continue to recommend this product to others as well. Most people are surprised when I let them listen to the headset. They are skeptical that it works without being over your ears. This is just a good fit for cyclist. I wear it while riding and find that it still helps me pick up my surrounding sounds. One improvement that could be made is making it more comfortable to wear.
