Product features - A newly developed 45 mm \"True / Motion\" high resolution audio driver dedicated to SR 9 that approaches the original sound with outstanding resolving power. -High performance magnetic circuit adopting pure iron integral type yoke that bring out the driving force to the limit is installed. - Audio signal is accurately transmitted by high purity 7N-OFC short bobbin wound voice coil. - DLC coating that increases rigidity is applied, dramatically improving high frequency characteristics. - By adopting the midpoint ? mount technology, it reproduces a missing sound with high response. Adopting a new design in which the front and rear spaces of the diaphragm are uniform so as to fully demonstrate the performance of the driver within a limited housing space while minimizing the influence on the housing size. Furthermore, a damper dividing the front and rear spaces is arranged to optimize the propagation of unnecessary low frequency components. - By screwing the hard aluminum housing, it effectively suppresses distortion caused by unnecessary vibration. I realized an ideal housing structure that is simple but also in detail. - Adopted a fine and smooth aluminum slider that supports stable mounting. For the earpad, select special materials that evenly distribute the load on the head when headphones are attached. Provide a superb listening space with less stress. -Adopting our proprietary exclusive audio design A2DC connector, removable double-sided cord type that emphasizes sound quality. Separate left and right audio signals and reduce crosstalk by transmitting. High amount of information such as high resolution sound source etc is also transmitted to the headphone with high accuracy. Removable connector / L-shaped plug sleeve adopts aluminum material to suppress minor vibration.

  • I bought this headphone after seeing a review in a Japanese magazine. Well, before the burn-in this headphone sounds terrible. It has very weak bass; mid is recessed and voice is sibililant; and treble is extendened but tinny. After 12hrs burn-in with isotek burn-in CD, it is better; mids are less recessed, treble is smoothened, and clean, but not much improvement with bass. I can not be bothered for futher burn-in. This has to go back.PS:I used a HP laptop, Tidal, and audiquest Red DAC for evaluation. I switched between Bose QC35 and ATH SR9 to asses the sound quality comparatively.
  • The worst i have ever heard. I have tried SEVERAL HEADPHONES and i have been trying and returning a lot of headphones trying to find the pair for me. This are the worst i have ever heard. Let me start with the highs, the highs are unbelievably harsh and hard to listen to. They just get inside your ears and hurt. This hurt to me. The mids are not super bad but they lack body and are recessed too much. The bass is lacking, in songs that have a lot of bass you dont feel the bass on this. I don\'t know if i have a defective pair or what but for 449 dollars this is crazy. I regret now changing my Beyer dt 880 back then because those are still today to me the best sounding headphones. I\'m done, i will get the dt 880 premium again and i won\'t buy another pair of headphones ever. It seems today that after you spend more than 200 you\'re not getting better sound, maybe better quality build but not much better sound. I\'m done with this.
  • Been a huge fan of the crystal clear sound i always got from audio technica and these are the real deal pair them with a dac/amp and sit back and enjoy the music. These arent ment to be flooded with bass to those who complain.Debating buying another pair for when i workout to see how they hold up.
  • Good day.I bought these headphones as camping, to listen to on public transport. I liked the sound detail, comfortable fit, lightweight, almost not felt on the head. I’m listening to Onkio DP-X1A. I bought a balanced cable Audio-Technica HDC112A. Improved bass and sound scene.
  • Overall, the sound is the clearest AT headphone I have yet heard and own by them. No coloration. They do need breaking in to start enjoying a well balanced Hi-Rez sound presentation though. So, a little patience is a prerequisite.There\'s talk about the bass. It is not over done, and not lacking either to my ears. That\'s made evident with Electronic music. It is articulate. No boom but there is rumble to be enjoyed. I traded up from their MSR7. By comparison, the two differ in speed, ultimate clarity goes to the SR9. The deepest bass notes goes to the MSR7, but at a cost of boom and ultimate detail. Oh! The MSR7 in GM are simply gorgeous! The stark silver of the SR9 isn\'t much to look at? But, that\'s entirely aesthetics.
  • i tried these on and they creaks like crazy when just holding it in your hands. so i imagine when you walk with it, your going to hear creaking all the time. i have ws1100is and they creak a bit when walking, but not when i hold it. these were more detailed than my ws1100is.ultimately, this is not a review, i suggest you trying them or looking for reviews elsewhere before buying.
  • I got these headphones because I couldn\'t stand my M-50\'s anymore. These are much more accurate and perfect for everyday wear. I use these primarily for video editing and podcast production. I\'m not a sound engineer, but do the best I can mastering audio for all my content. My one dislike with these is the stock cable they come with... it\'s difficult to explain, but you could hear anything that touch the cable while wearing them. I replaced it with good custom braided cable off ebay, and now these headphones are truly perfect for my needs. On my PC these are plugged into a EVGA NuAudio Sound Card... and although I leave these on my computer, they work great outdoors walking around too (just get that aftermarket cable).
