JBL Club Pro Plus - High-Performance, True Wireless Headphones with Active Noise Cancellation - Black
- Selected these because of their sound profile compared to other jbl products near the price point, wearing one earbud takes away your EQ settings as well as your permission to change some settings so stereo use is definitely recommended.
- I have the Over the Ear JBL Tune 600BTNC headphones and they are excellent for their price and my favorite up to now. I also have B&O Play wired earbuds which always sounded great in the bass but overly bright to fatiguing. The Tune 600BTNC are warm sounding and more realistic sounding so they became my favorites right away. Now when I first put the Club Pro Plus earbuds in, they fit very snug but sound was awful. It was very thin, no bass, and very bright. I was very disappointed. BUT I kept trying and found the app setting \"Check my best fitting\" and found that neither earbud was fitting properly with the midsize ear piece. So I went up to the Large ear piece and did the \"Check my best fitting\" test and it passed now. The sound was like night and day. Now the sound had plenty of strong, deep, punchy bass and mids were full sounding now. The sound was full and actually a bit more articulate than the excellent Tune 600BTNC. No more thin, bright sound! The sound was awesome now and is just as good if not better sounding than the Tune 600BTNC! Very happy now but disappointed that such a small flimsy ear piece can make or break the sound quality of the Club Pro Plus earbuds. Also while the midsize ear piece was tight in my ear, the large size is tighter and fully planted where it is not going to come out unless I am doing cartwheels or flips. Very secure and stable in my ears! I can only think that the complaints about fit are from people with the wrong size ear pieces, but the \"Check my best fitting\" test should steer them to the right size. Since finding this out, I tried bigger ear pieces on my B&O Play earbuds and it helped tame some of the brightness. However they are still bright sounding next to the JBL Tune 600BTNC or JBL Club Pro Plus systems. The noise cancelling seems no better than the Tune 600BTNC which isn\'t that great for sporadic noise but good for low rumbling noise like I have at my workplace. I can still hear conversations with it enabled. On the JBL Club Pro Plus, just as the Tune 600BTNC, the noise cancelling adds slight background noise and boosts the highs and bass making for more of an inaccurate sound. While I consider myself more of an audio enthusiast than an audiophile, I do like my sound neutral and realistic.I\'m more about the sound quality than anything else. In fact everything else, is not that big of a deal to me. I did go up to these because I wanted the app control and some of the other features as mono use, talk through and ambient aware. I wanted the earbuds in addition to my tune 600BTNC headphones for times I can\'t use the headphones as wearing a hat, laying down, or while doing a lot of motion. These earbuds fill in for those times.Charging seems OK given the small size of an earbud battery. The case having a battery to charge the earbuds every time they\'re seating is a very nice touch. The biggest flaw of the earbuds is they are not loud and that\'s concerning for low level music and maybe even more quiet phone calls. I like having enough headroom so I can get full volume out of my low level recordings. There are aftermarket apps that add volume boost to the Bluetooth signal but that shouldn\'t be needed. My JBL Tune 600BTNC gets much MUCH louder and it\'s rated to be less loud than the Club Pro Plus by 5 decibels, which is a lot!Overall, I plan to keep these earbuds but I would really like to know why these earbuds can\'t get loud at full Bluetooth volume.I edited this review but not showing up. These buds started causing pain if I wore them over 10 minutes and the pain would last an hour even after taking them out. Nothing would keep them from causing pain when wearing so they obviously can be used.
- When i first got these6 months ago i was really excited for the noise cancellation. But when i tried them out i could still hear pretty much everything. The only thing that it got rid of is like random backround noises like when your in the car with ac on you dont hear the ac AS MUCH but its still there. This made me really disappointed bc i got them specifically for that reason and for them to not work how i expected made me regret buying these. I had recently tried the air pod pros noise cancellation and they were exponentially better. While i know that they are twice the price of these ones there was just no competition. Another thing that turned me off to these is that after maybe an hour with them in they start hurting my ears. The jbl app does tell you that you have to turn them a bit for the actual fit but i still find them to press up against my ears uncomfortably. And if i lay down on my side the bulkyness of it makes it press into my ears inadvertently making my head hurt. On top of all of this the charging on one of my earbuds does not want to work. I put it in and the light does not come on indicating that it is charging. Ive tried holding down the button on the bottom of the case to reset it but it doesnt do anything. Granted i have dropped the case and the individual ear buds multiple times so it is probably my fault. But since the case does not recognize that the earbud is in i cant quickly make both of them play at the same time if i didnt want to listen with only one anymore. The sound quality is fine ig i dont really know how other earbuds sound so i have nothing to compare it with.
- I have had these for almost a year now.I’ll try to keep this brief.PROSThe battery life is good for these types of ear buds. The sound quality is excellent when setting up your personal experience within the app.Overall fairly comfortable as I have not had any issue wearing these for several hours at a time.CONThis is a big one and causes me to seriously downgrade rating. They disconnect from my phone FAR too often. When I am walking or running with them, phone in pocket, they will randomly disconnect. Sometimes they will reconnect right away. Often I have to pull my phone out and re-press play to get them to reconnect.I have used other ear buds that all stay connected more continuously then these.I create mobile apps for a living and I know Bluetooth connections can be hit or miss, but many other devices don’t have this issue. The only time they tend to stay connected is if you are just sitting there staring at your phone. They are fine if you are just sitting at your desk with the phone nearby. Just not what I wanted them for.Due to this I would NOT recommend these. I have become frustrated enough that I am going to look for something new. Wanted to stay away from the Apple EarPod Pros but not sure if I’m willing to risk another $150 or more to find this same issue with another product!??Dang. I really like everything else about these.
