- I just returned from a 6-month trip to SouthEast Asia where I was in the countryside for most of the time, so it was hard to get settled with strong reception long enough to write a review right away. But it worked out in the end because now I can write a long-term review for you. I know corded earphones are pretty much extinct nowadays, but here was one great reason why it was perfect: I did not want truly wireless/TWS earphone for this trip, as I didn\'t want it slipping out of my ears during hiking sessions in the jungles and fields where it might get lost or broken from water damage, etc. I wanted something I can plug into my old Android/throwaway phone (my HTC One 11). So this was something I could physically connect to it, and just wrap around it at the end of the day while it was sleeping, and didn\'t have to worry about misplacing it.The second, and main feature, was the excellent sound. The sound portion is big enough to house a big audio driver in earphone terms, for a very full and robust sound. I would say the sound is even almost as good as my wireless Sony WF-XM4 earphones. I would even say the trebles are even more pronounced and higher quality.It comes with a very nice soft case, which I barely used, but really appreciated nonetheless, and the price is a bit high by today\'s standards, but that\'s because this is a high quality earphone. I would definitely recommend it.
- Played with it a few different ways and my main use was practice in-ear monitors for my guitar setup. Overall they did pretty good but whenever I cranked the volume they started having distortion but not in a good way. IF you are going to use them as headphones they are probably great, but if you are looking to push them to their limits and use them on stage I would keep looking.
- When listening to them for the first time, the soundstage felt quite wide but rather unnatural. Imaging and placement of instruments was ok, but not what I expected for an IEM in the 100 dollar range. Tuning was pretty harsh and far from neutral. You could argue it is more \"detailed\" but it is fatiguing in the upper treble for my ears at least. Fit was great though for me with the medium ear tips. These iems were not heavy or overly bulky.
- I haven\'t really kept up with iems recently and that last pair of iems I had bought were the starfield moon drop so that\'s what I had on hand to compare these to. The earbuds come in a nice box with good artwork which it seems like all iems come with these days you get plenty of tip options with different bore sizes if your into that I personally tried out both but couldn\'t really hear a difference. You also get a leather magnetic flip close case which is strong enough to protect your earbuds from damage. Compared to my star fields I did notice a few differences in sound Mainly the bass was much more preeminent and had a good kick to it I don\'t usually enjoy bass heavy iems but I felt this was well done and didn\'t muddle the sound it just gave music a nice fun impact. I don\'t have any way to measure the sound but to my ears it sounded like a U sound rather than the highly popular V sound and I do prefer this sound to the latter overall these iems impressed me the sound great and fit comfortably in my ears for a competitive price I tested them on a jds labs atom and a topping dx3 pro but they also sounded great on my phones headphone jack they\'re iems so you can drive them with literally anything..
- These help me make sure my mixes sound pretty great anywhere as a nice flat reference/response. The bass and mids are rich and smooth, and powerful, mid highs are silky and highs are crystalline, simply delightful. They\'re great for listening to music and playing games for sure, but as IEM\'s for mixing, they\'re a treat to use as well, highly recommended!
- These sound great but aren\'t for someone who likes bass. They are pretty quite on the lower end, although still clear. I found myself missing parts of music that I have usually heard in other headsets. I would not say these are worth the $120
- Now, the box is a little odd, watercolor paintings aren\'t usually something I see when I get earbuds, but hey, to each their own. After opening it they had a little card for \"Thank You\" and whatnot. Then after that you have the earbud case and drivers. Packed very well, time was taken to make sure things were packaged properly. Once you dig further you will see the different eartips. Three sizes, two different sound types. One set for \"highs\" and the other for \"neutral/bass heavier\". I went with the smaller eartip II types. My ear canals are a little smaller so they fit, but if your ears are smaller, it will take a little time to get used to them. I had them in for about 30 minutes or so and they got more comfortable.Once I put them in and had the adjusted with the wiring over the ears and all good to go I plugged them into my laptop to listen to some music. The music quality itself was average, so I wasn\'t expecting Dolby like clarity. However, what I did hear was pretty much exactly what the file sounded like, so there was little coloring, maybe a little more low-end than originally, but that was to be expected. They block most of the sound from the outside, but not enough to block out someone talking directly at me. It wasn\'t loud, but I could make out what they were saying. The wiring is decent, but easy to knot up, so be careful when wrapping it. The earbud case will easily fit all the long cable and earbuds easily and the magnetic closure prevents crimping wires or broken connectors.These could easily be used for work listening, working out (note there is no microphone, these are strictly earbuds), or for music IEM use. I will be taking good care of these in hopes I will have them for a long time. While I like over the ear headphones for audio mixing/engineer, the earbuds will definitely come in handy for the road and getting work done in my office.
