Bose SoundDock digital music system for iPod (White)

  • Having never graduated from the iPod I find the Bose Sound dock to be a great choice for listening to music
  • I looked at a ton of these Ipod systems and the Bose was one of the best. Honestly I can\'t believe how tinny and weak the vast majority of these systems are. In the sub <$100 rage I only found one decent system and even that one fell apart as soon as you moved 6 feet away from it.At the original price I thought this was pretty overpriced even though the sound was nice. At the new price it is much easier to swallow although I really wish they\'d drop the original one and just sell the Portable version at the price of the one above. Sound quality is nice and warm with good bass and smooth midrange. The highs are a bit lacking with some material but overall it is a very nice. The Sounddock really does a nice job of filling the room with sound. I don\'t own any other Bose product because I think they cost too much for what you get, but in this case with the new price drop this isn\'t a bad deal. Most non-audiophiles will find the sound very pleasing. Again if your considering a cheaper model try and save up for this one, you\'ll be happy you did.
  • I usually read reviews but never comment but this time, I had to as I am so impressed with these speakers. I just got my ipod this year and have been busy downloading music to play at our annual neighborhood gathering which usually has a turnout of 50-75 people. I researched speakers and decided on the Bose due to other recommendations and I wasn\'t disappointed. If I could have made a commission on selling ipods and Bose speakers at the gathering, I would have been rolling in the dough. We used an extension cord from the closest RV and put the ipod/Bose speaker combination on the tailgate of our pickup. It was far enough from the gathering so not to drown the conversation PLUS the outdoor atmosphere and the conversation didn\'t drown out the music either. The speakers have a rich sound to them and the music played for 13 hours straight on the day of the party. I got compliment after compliment on the music as well as \"how such a little speaker could put out such rich quality outdoors\". I\'m sold and it wouldn\'t surprise me if next year I\'m hearing about how many people went out and purchased their own ipod and Bose speakers...
  • I have a 10 year old iPod classic. I needed some speakers to use with my iPod. Browsing Amazon I came across this product. It is great. The sound is good, the loudness is right for the room I work in and at least the iPod can be charged as well. The age of the iPod means that the battery is not lasting as long as it used to. So having this Bose system works well to keep the longevity of this gadget alive. It was more money on speakers than I would have initially paid out for but, the brand, and the system itself was worth it. And of course being gentle with the system when using it is also essential. Especially the pin for the connection. It was packaged well, I didn\'t have to wait too long for it to be delivered, and all round I am happy with the purchase.
  • I listened to both at Apple store, and felt I needed a better test at home. So I bought both Bose and Apple. My report? Bose sounds a little richer, fuller. Apple has more user control capabilities to tune the sound for more bass, classic, jazz, etc. although none of these seemed to do much. Bottom line, both are good. I moved the Bose to my wife cuz she can\'t deal with making different settings, I kept the Apple so I could try a few changes in the settings and it was a bit louder and almost equalled the Bose in quality. If my wife told me to swap \'em, I\'d be fine with that too. Slight preference for Apple controls and using ipod displays, slight preference for Bose sound richness. Uh, Bose does take up less desk top space. Sorry if I can\'t tell you that I have a definite pick, but it\'s a slight edge to the Apple for me (controls, visibility of what\'s playing) versus a slight sound advantage to Bose. Oh, should all our choices be so good.
  • This was my very first Bose Purchase (of many) and the SoundDock introduced me to the magical world of Bose sound. It doesn’t get any better. This SoundDock could fill a room with clear notes across the spectrum while charging my iPod at the same time. The only issue I ever had with this product was the one that caused it to break in the end. The docking pins were too fragile and subject to bending and it was a challenge to line up my iPod properly. I’m not sure if there was any way to improve the design considering the iPod’s charging design, but this was a big issue for me and the reason my SoundDock sat broken and unused for so many years before we finally got rid of it. For the money, it didn’t last nearly long enough.
  • I am stuck it seems like everyone else. I have two sound docks, purchased at two different times, both barely used, and plugged into surge protectors. I did an update on both iPods that stay docked in them, and since then, nothing! My sound docks make no noise when plugged in. No static, nothing! Completely dead! If anyone has any idea why and what I can do to fix it, I would be grateful. I don\'t want to have to ship them both to Bose and pay over $200.00 for repair!
