- I have another set of bone induction headphones that I really like, and I was excited to get these as they are name brand (the others are not) and was expecting to be \"wowed\" but I was not. I was disappointed. They arrived in a compact package that was well-designed highlighting the features of the headphones, the unboxing was fun and I loved the internal components and paper stock used. Something I rarely take the time to review, but I really liked the attention to detail that is often missed. The documentation/instructions are clear and easy to understand...I plugged in the cord and attached the MagSafe connector to charge them up before using... On the headphones themselves, looks exactly like an Apple first generation MagSafe connection with four connection points but the plug on the cord only has two.I thought they felt really nice and solid in my hand, and was excited to try them out but that\'s where it started going downhill for me. They are quite stiff compared to my other ones, and they don\'t fit on my small head very well pushing the back of my ears out. I tried adjusting the fit to make sure they were seated properly but the part that goes behind my ears are too stiff and wide. They don\'t feel seated securely because they don\'t sit flush on my head. Granted I have a small head, even for a female my noggin is so petite that I need to buy youth size baseball caps and still have to tighten them all the way. So If you have an average or large size noggin, they\'ll probably fit you just fine. When I got my first set, not knowing what to expect I listened to quite a few genres of music to hear their range and I was impressed by the sound quality and depth. Not so much with these. After connecting them to my iPhone via bluetooth I fired up my Amazon Music app and selected one of my favorite bands in my favorite genre because that\'s what I\'d use them for the most especially when exercising because it\'s fast.. Metallica, Hardwired to Self Destruct. Ready to rock out, I\'m sure my face dropped when I heard the first few bars... It sounded superficial, there was no depth or range. They sounded tinny and flat. Summed up, they sounded dull. That was NOT what I was expecting! Hoping it was just my ears deceiving me, I disconnected the Creative Labs pair, and connected my other pair and played the same song and it was wonderfully full and vibrant with Les Paul goodness. I didn\'t have to listen to any more genres to test their range because they fell flat for music that has the whole package as far as I\'m concerned, heavy guitars, fast drums and mesmerizing bass lines. No need to listen to blues or 90s rap, there\'s no bass so there\'s no point. The only thing I could see using these for is for listening to podcasts or audio books. Which is a total bummer, I\'m disappointed.
- I really like the bone conduction styleI\'ve always struggled with ear buds that wouldn\'t stay in when out walking/running.The standard \"in the ear\" ear bud also blocks out outside noises so aren\'t great if you\'re jogging/biking.I put these on my head and they settled right into place and produced good quality sound. I didn\'t need to fuss with how they were positioned. The way they naturally landed on my head produced nice clear sound. The band on these does not actually touch my head - the position is controlled primarily by how they rest over your ear.The volume buttons confused me at first as I was clicking them too fast and getting no change. I slowed down my clicks and then the volume was easily changing for me.I do wish the charger was a USB-C but I can deal with the magnetic style. I always like to keep more than one charge cable available (work, home, packed in a small travel bag...). So I picked up a two pack of the 7.62mm two pin charge cable. Charges just like the original cable.
- The first time I used these headphones, I had to do a double-take - I thought they were open ear headphones or the like, because the sound was so good. Having tried a few different pairs of bone conduction headphones in the past, I can say that these are the best I’ve heard.Physically, these are lightweight and rugged - the entire unit is encased in the same rubberized sheath, and everything has plenty of spring and give, so you’re not worry about damaging them when you’re active. The three buttons (used for pairing, power, volume, track and voice assistant control) are easy to locate and distinguish between, so control is simple. The Bluetooth 5.3 standard also ensures a reliable connection (I haven’t had them drop or fail once).Sound-wise, with open ears these provide excellent highs and mids, with the anemic bass that is so common for bone conduction headphones. With the included silicone earplugs in, however, there’s bass to spare, to the point that the sound can get muddy. For me, there’s a sweet spot to be found by putting in the earplugs halfway, and the result is an impressive balanced sound that surpasses any bone conduction headphones I’ve heard, and a significant improvement over stock headphones that come with phones. If you’re looking for bone conduction headphones for work or exercise, these are an excellent choice - you get environmental awareness, ruggedness and good sound.
- The Good:Does really well with your highs, and mediums.Charges Really Quickly (2 hours), and has a very long battery life (10 hours)I have had music running almost constantly all day.Supposed to connect to 2 devices at once (haven\'t tried it, but I can see where it would be useful)The Bad:Falls a bit flat and loses some detail on Bass (which tends to be the case on a lot of bone conduction devices)They fit very well, but no matter how much I fiddle with them, they just tend to feel slightly \"off\".They have a bit more audio bleed than a pair of in ear headphones. Still fairly quiet, but in a quiet room or in a relatively quiet vehicle, the person next to you will be able to hear music, and may be able to make out words if they listen closely. The Odd:It came with a decent set of earplugs, which kinda goes against the point of bone conduction headphones, leaving your ears open to hear the things around you.The Result:I am not certain it deserves a 4, but I feel it does deserve more than a 3, so there we go. Honestly, I feel like these would be great for a call center, or someone that needs to frequently be on their phone, but does not want to use normal headphones or wants to keep their ears open while they work.
