- TINHIFI T2 PlusThe T2 Plus is my first introduction to TinHifi. I was excited to try them after reading so many positive reviews on other TinHifi earphones. I wasn\'t disappointed! The packaging is very nice and premium looking. I love the blue and gold theme. These just look and feel high quality. The body of the earphones is machined from aviation grade aluminum alloy and feels nice to the touch. They have a single well-tuned Nano Creative Dynamic Driver per side. The shells are sleek and fit almost flush in the ear. They are extremely comfortable and I forget they are in sometimes. I really like the organic shape and minimalist design of them. The Silver Plated cable is quite nice for a stock cable and feels soft and supple with metal MMCX connectors. The clear plastic chin cinch is handy for keeping tangles to a minimum. Just slide the bead up to the MMCX connectors before winding the cable for storage. Cinching the cable up under your chin can help reduce cable noise though I didn\'t experience any noise.I did all my listening with my Hiby R3 pro using all flacs, 16bit 44.1k or better. With many new earphones sporting 5, 6, 7 or more drivers per side, I was excited to try a well engineered single driver earphone. Having only one driver per side eliminates the need for crossover networks to divide the signal between multiple drivers. This eliminates phase issues between the drivers and helps keep the frequency response curve nice and smooth. These have a very natural and balanced sound signature that has no ugly peaks and valleys. They sound very natural and smooth. The low frequencies extend deep and sub bass effects are heard and felt. The bass is fast and accurate but not to the point of sounding cold or sterile. There is enough roundness and fullness to the bass that kick drums and other bass instruments sound powerful and natural. The bass is definitely boosted, but in a good way. There is plenty of deep bass, and upper bass lends warmth to the mids without sounding muddy. I love the way you can hear the sound of the beater striking the kick drums. It has a nice detail without getting too bright and spikey. They just sound natural. The mids are the star of the show. They are smooth and silky while still having excellent detail. I can hear details in tracks that I didn\'t know existed. Acoustic instruments sound woody and detailed with lots of harmonic overtones. Its suprizing how much detail you hear even without the massive high mid peak that often plagues earphones that have balanced armatures. The dynamic driver is balanced and full of detail and texture.High frequencies are bright, but not siblant. There is no harshness or ice-pick peaks. They are not overly bright so the mids shine through. I like these!Soundstage is about average. Boosting the treble can give these a more spacious sound but the mids can get pushed back in the process if you overdo it. I like the tuning. They just sound natural and organic, not hyped and brash. That describes these earphones well. They are beautifully balanced and have detail everywhere. These sound smooth and even. They just sound real. They sound good with all genres of music but really shine on mixes with acoustic instruments. Classical sounds great! Pure and honest. They are not overly hyped or bass/treble boosted excessively. They are balanced.Obviously, I love these things, and you probably will too. Also, Kinboofi is always great to deal with. Thanks for reading! Hope this helps you find the right earphones.
- I watched Zeos of Z Reivews gush about these IEMs, so I had a good opinion of them going in. I decided to buy these for my wife to use as a replacement for her Samsung phone’s OEM earbuds as they were beginning to fail. Because she required a wired connection with a microphone to answer calls, this was purchased with a 4 wire braided mmcx cable for the Shure SE215 with an in-line microphone. This solution works well for being under $100 total.Sound wise, if you told me these were $150 or $200 IEMs, then I would probably accept it on face value as worth it. But these are $50! As a side note, I have not thought to burn them in so perhaps there might be a subtle change to the sonic characteristics, but I wouldn’t expect much development. The midrange is presented forward with just enough separation for vocals and instruments, and the highs are present without being onerous. The bass falls short of spectacular at high volumes with added graininess, but is acceptable at reasonable volumes and if there is no EQ boost. They do not really need an EQ boost as they are designed to be ‘fun’ sounding with a mid-bass to mid-range hump and forward vocals. Two faults I have with the Tin T2’s beyond the bass beginning to fall apart at unreasonable volumes: 1) There is no sound stage. 2) They are harder to drive despite being lower ohm than other IEMs.It isn’t fair to compare them to my Westone UM Pro 30’s ($400 and sounding like it) but I will anyways. My Westones have sound stage that shocked me: wide, deep, behind, and at angles above and below me with very good imaging. The Tin T2 does not have sound stage at all. It may as well have been just the distance between my ears instead of out to a perceived distances the Westones provide without giving up detail. The Tin T2’s retain excellent horizontal imaging and detail as it sounds like everything is happening in your head on a 2D plane.Volume without an amplifier may be an issue. I found these harder to drive than the Westone UM Pro 30’s over the same balanced cable (FiiO mmcx 8 wire to 4.4mm adapted to XLR) to a loud volume on my Monoprice THX AAA 788. The Westones have more impedance but are more efficient at 124 dB per 1 mW. The Tin T2 have an ohm value three times less than the Westones and only a 102 dB per 1 mW. Perhaps this is designed so you don’t push the Tin T2 hard enough to detect the bass graining up my ears, but I would have hoped these would have been easier to drive.Note to comfort, I really like the blue tips that came preinstalled. My wife really like the blue tips that came preinstalled. I think most people will really like the preinstalled blue tips.Last rated category, value for money: Yes! I started this write up by stating that if these were priced at $150 to $200, then I’d probably accept it. I would be way more hard on their flaws for that price, and my three complaints above are nitpicking to some degree, but I wouldn’t have a problem recommending the Tin T2’s at 3 to 4 stars for ‘value for money’ if they came with a balanced cable. The Tin T2’s sound better the Westone Adventure IEMs I usually use in the office but for half the price. By that, I mean they have a pleasing sound profile for listening to music. I would recommend these to anyone but especially an audiophile on a budget that doesn’t listen to bass insane music at hearing loss volumes. These are solid recommendation: Excellent for the $50 price tag.
- The complaint is subjective. The iem is great, very comfortable and comes with a nice carrying case with multiple tips to choose from. No complaints other than I like how different tips sound too much. Instead of just picking one, I\'ll switch to other ones to see how they sound and I can\'t stop. It doesn\'t help that today my ears find the mediums the most comfortable but yesterday my ears thought the large sizes were the most comfortable. The iems are great, just get em and leave me alone to have weird ears.
