- Like My 3rd time buying these can\'t go wrong
- lovely colour
- Excellent...!
- Excellent!!!!!!!!
- Out of the box straight away these lack vocal clarity at lower volumes. As well the deeper 40-50Hz range I like is lacking behind the 60-125Hz range I don\'t care for. Maybe the disliked range just sits to loud to me. With that down, everything else might sit about right. But that is not how these sound. The adjustable slider that holds the cable together either at the back your head or below the chin, slides way too easy and basically never stays put as you move around. So I will have to use my old technique of stuffing inside of that sleeve with some other wire or material and add friction so it will actually stay in place where I want it.I wanted to like these, so in trying to like the way they sound I find myself trying to push them louder to get the vocals and deep bass to punch through more. The fact is this is not what I want to do most of the time. If you like to just pound your ears with loud volumes, maybe the recessed vocals range will be easier on your ear\'s sensitive range.EQ to test: 60Hz -4db; 125Hz -6db; 250Hz -3db (Not perfect, but better on my Samsung S8, Equalizer (Advanced mode.) This gets the vocals back out front, not buried and harder to understand.I hate to use EQ\'s since I play music off my phone often as a reference source to know if the sound systems I setup sound right. When I forget I have a EQ in the phone turned ON messing up the sound I\'m feeding out of my phone, I can get myself in trouble trying to fix the sound system. (Not the bad sound coming out of the phone where the issue is.)I think I liked my cheaper MDR-EX15AP out of the box. (The MDR-EX15LP I bought were a bit bright until they were broken in for about 3 weeks when they started to sound like the MDR-EX15AP did out of the box. No the MDR-EX15LP pair didn\'t break in my ears. I bought two pairs at the same time and when I opened the 2nd brand new pair to test this very theory, the new pair were bright like I remembered and the 3 week old pair sounded about right. Three weeks later on the second pair they both sounded about the same and about right. Odd, but I can live with it at the price.)I\'d prefer the MDR-EX15AP for sound at 1/6th the price, but with the cable on these. I bought these hoping these would sound better and be more durable. I\'ll Probably hold onto these to see if they have a break in period. I tried playing loud 20 & 40 Hz through these last night hoping mechanically these would loosen up. But I can\'t hear a significant difference yet after 8-10 hours of that breaking while I slept.Bottom line, I can see why these were discontinued. (In fact I can\'t even find these on the Sony website. All I can find are the Bluetooth model. Strange.) I hoped they\'d be a good buy since the only black pair I saw was close to twice the price on Amazon when I purchased these.
