- Simply the best option.
- UPDATE: They were right in their packaged specs...I updated my firmware for my camera and the performance improved at least on the Genesys (non-Nine-Volt brand) cables I have. So I\'m updating this to a 4-star until I get another chance to test these again.I purchased this cable with the expectation that it\'ll perform at full speed/buffer with the Nikon D850 in a convenient integrated camera/extension cable (the camera is listed as compatible). However, it buffers only after 9 frames of the 19 frame buffer. This performance is similar to other Genesys-based active extensions that work at full speed/buffer at 5m/15ft, but not at 10m/33ft.I returned the item because it was not, as claimed, \"fast/faster/fastest\" for the D850, especially with the added premium. I\'ll stick with VIA-based chipsets for 10m active extensions that allow full buffer shooting, even without supplemental power input.I haven\'t tested this specific cable with Canon 5DS or Canon 5DIV cameras. But if performance is theoretically similar to other Genesys chipsets, those cameras should work fine. I\'ve only had buffering issues specifically with the Nikon D850 and ~10m/33ft extensions. On Mac, to determine what chipsets your extension is using, Go to \"Apple logo > About This Mac > Overview > System Report > USB > USB 3.0 Bus (that your camera is listed under when connected\"
- Ran a rapid-fire two day shoot on this cable with no drops or disconnects. Fast and reliable so far.
- I have two of these and when tethering it caps out at 25mb/s so about 1 image ever 2-3 seconds.... VS a cheap $25-$30 cable matter setup you get ~100mb/s so 2-3 images per second...
