House of Marley No Bounds XL: Waterproof Speaker with Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity, 16 Hours of Indoor/Outdoor Playtime, and Sustainable Materials, Signature Black
- This is my new favorite speaker. Amazing sound quality and long battery life.
- Overall house of marley no bounds and nobounds xl are beautiful speakers well built and quite cheap (bought my xl at 50 usd) wich make a great value for the money overall as they do what they promise. But sound quality is just not enought. Having owned only jbl speakers before, this experience is just not good enought as the bass is weak and a lot of the backgroind sound of the music is lost along this issue.
- The heft and weight is impressive, as is the sheer volume. It\'s a LOUD speaker. Using with my iPod (yes, I still use one) pairing was quick and easy. The speaker can control the iPod - pause and skip back and forth. The volume is independent, so you set the volume on the iPod and speaker separately.I tried this speaker with a variety of music. Overall it was muddy sounding. I\'d set the EQ for classical and it would sound good, but when some industrial played it was terrible - had to change the EQ again. Most speakers can handle a variety of music without constant adjustment. I found that I had to constantly change the EQ in my iPod based on the music. So if you\'re strictly playing rock OR metal OR classical, you can set the EQ and forget it. Otherwise you\'re better off with no EQ and tolerating the muddy sound. For most music it\'s OK. But for some it was really annoying. One BIG advantage is the water resistance AND that it floats. Combined with the LONG battery life (advertised at 16 hours - I\'ve used it for 11 continuous with no issues!) The speaker battery will outlast you\'re device\'s power! That\'s where the speaker gets clever - beneath the rubber plug that seals a small panel on the back is a USB port - when the speaker is powered on, this charges your device. That\'s one reason I like my old iPod - it uses almost zero power. I had the speaker powering the iPod and playing music for over 11 hours. So - major pluses are the IPX7 rating, huge internal battery and volume. Nice build quality. The minus - muddy sounding and heavy.Great for beach, pool or crowded rooms. For solo listening where music quality is paramount, not so much.
- This is the best portable speaker I have ever used. The battery life is amazing, especially when compared to others I have used. I have fully charged this thing and had it last for a couple of weeks when I used it just in the truck rides to and from work. During that time I have had it full blast most of the time, or at least very near full blast. It seems this speaker has an awesome battery. These are 20 minute rides and I usually work 5 or 6 days a week. Granted I don\'t turn it on every single time but most of the time I do.The sound quality is pretty good too. I feel like it has ample bass for being a portable speaker. Nobody should go into a portable speaker of this size and nature and expect something out of it like a home theater but it does get loud, and the bass sounds relatively loud when compared to the speakers size. I think it sounds better than the radio in my truck, even if it can\'t get as loud as my truck. The build quality is great. It seems rather rugged, but I am notoriously easy on all my stuff so there is a very small chance I would ever even drop anything I own let alone treat it rough, but it does appear to me that this thing can handle some abuse. The connections are covered with the same materials with those little things that you pull out and they just hang there while you use the port. This is nice for those using it outside a lot or just for prolonged use where you don\'t want the ports to get dusty or dirty.Good sound quality, long lasting battery, and it is pretty rugged. I would say this is a definite worthwhile purchase if you are in the market.
- This little speaker sounds great but I was less than impressed with the volume level that it puts out. It\'s not quiet but I\'ve had smaller speakers that get much louder. In a room without a lot of ambient noise it will be a perfect fit. Taking it to the beach or the pool where there is a lot of ambient sound I\'m not so sure. Hopefully I will get to test that out in the near future. I can say that it is waterproof and will float. I filled the bathtub up and threw it in. It bobbed to the surface and kept right on playing. If you want a speaker that sounds great and will hold up to whatever abuse you throw at it then this is for you. If you are looking for a speaker based solely on how loud it will get then I would look elsewhere.
- The speaker\'s sound is what really impressed me. Definitely some deep lows, the high notes come out very clean. I compared to an older style Bluetooth speaker that I had, night and day. Not tinny at all. Compared to full size speakers it\'s lacking the complete range. This speaker is not going to replace your surround sound, but what single speaker would?It\'s large, and heavy for portable. So it might hurt your back if you try to carry in with your school books. But definitely small enough to carry around in the house, to the pool or in your car. It\'s about a little under 5lbs. Very solid construction. Pairing with devices was very easy for us.Because this speaker is waterproof it\'s a great choice for the pool or camping. We took the speaker out and played sound off the iPad to watch movies. It really added a lot to the experience. Loud enough for everyone to see. Battery life is semi issue but for something with this kind of sound the fact that it can be battery operated is amazing. I got a few hours, I think we got through more than two movies. So it was long enough for us. Also you could hook it up to a charger.Overall I was quite impressed. I really like the speaker and it\'s our new go-to. Much better than the small Bluetooth speakers we were using previously.
