  • WHY ARE THESE CHEAPER?Okay, so first off: why are these headphones more than a Benjamin cheaper than the \"US Version?\" The answer is simple - these are refurbished. The box I received had a big Amazon Refurbished sticker on the bottom. They did not smell bad or seem used in any way except for a little bit of wear on the crown portion of the cushioning. All accessories were included, appearing unused. They powered up fine and performed well. So it\'s a refurbish. I don\'t know if \"International Model\" is just a way of trying to obscure this fact.PERFORMANCEI was stepping up from a pair of Sony MDR-7506 wired studio monitor phones which are prized for their flatness and accuracy, as well as durability. I also own a pair of Sony MDR-XB950bt wireless cans, which are convenient but ultimately disappointing as far as being overly bassy and obscuring detail in the mid and high ranges. The MDR-1000x headphones sound amazing in comparison. Imagine all of the clarity of the 7506 married with a deeper and more involving bass response. I primarily listen to classical music in the form of CD-ripped FLAC files, played with a Sony NW-a45 music player. The experience with a great recording can be overwhelmingly good. I was also very pleased by LDAC bluetooth streaming from a capable phone/music player. I cannot tell the difference between LDAC and wired play as far as quality.Noise cancellation is excellent. Any droning noise is effectively eliminated (like the droning AC in my office, or the whine of a bus engine while commuting via public transportation). Talking is muffled when there is no music playing, and is effectively eliminated with music. I have no doubt they can stand up to an airplane interior. It is nice to not have to crank the volume up terribly loud and still hear music in full detail. One disappointment for me is that these phones are not compatible with the Sony Headphones app that allows for customizing the equalizer. Over Bluetooth, you get the way they are tuned and that\'s it. Luckily, they\'re tuned well.BUILD QUALITY AND FEATURESThese are gorgeous headphones (I have the gold/beige model). They look significantly nicer that any other headphones I\'ve seen. They are comfortable on the head and only start to chafe on my ears after a few hours of use. They get my ears predictably hot in warm weather outside. I have noticed no cracking or even movement of the parts on the cup hinge where others have reported issues. I do take extra care when folding them into the supplied hard case (which is very nice). As I mentioned, there is some very light tearing on the upper padding. This was present upon opening, so I imagine it was from whoever the original purchaser was. I cannot comment on whether this will affect all users over time. It\'s annoying and makes me worry about my investment.UPDATE: Well, a little over a year in, my headband hinge did indeed begin to crack. As I said, I babied these things - so there is definitely a design flaw. I think it has to do with the gauge of the plastic and the \"teeth\" that control the headband adjustment - extending and retracting the cups over time and the teeth hitting each other formed a crack that expanded rather quickly. Luckily, as pictured, there are aftermarket parts available on eBay that allow for a great fix. My 3D printed part was purchased from TrailEngineer70 on eBay, and it is stronger than the original. One of the coolest features of this set of cans are the touch gestures. You can swipe a finger on the right can to advance or rewind files, raise or lower volume, stop playback, as well as cup your hand to stop noise cancelling and hear the outside world. It is however possible to stop a track accidentally with your shoulder or while adjusting the headphones.CONCLUSIONThese are easily the best headphones I\'ve listened to. I am happy to have gotten them for so much less than the MSRP, but do have concerns about durability which proved to be true. They are easily fixable with aftermarket parts, though. As such, I recommend them at reduced price with those caveats.
  • Before I bought it I had seen the review saying it\'s too small, but actually it\'s pretty nice fitting my head, and there is still space to get tighter or looser! So for most of the people the size is not a problem I think.I really like it, the voice and button information is in English, only the package box is written in both Japanese and English, so if you don\'t know Japanese, it doesn\'t matter.I choose the imported one because it\'s $20 lower price than that in US. I don\'t know why, at least I have used it about 1 month and don\'t find any defect yet.The noice canceling works vey very nice, definitely the same or even better than the BOSE QC35(my friend has QC35 and I have compared them). The touch screen functions also looks cool and practical. The battery life is sooooo long(>20h). I can use it for couples of days without charge. When you touch the \"power\" button, it will tell you \"battery level high\" or \"battery level medium\" or low in voice; in the cell phone UI there also shows the battery level. It supports wire on the airplane with adapter in the package.Remember sometimes on the plane or staying long somewhere to use the \"Optimaization\" function by holding the button \"NC\" for about 4~5s, it will optimize the voice cancelling effect bestThe \"ambient sound\" function can louder the voice around and help you hear better at the time listening the music. If you have any other question just ask here, I\'ll answer ASAP.
  • Out of the 4 versions of this product this was the best. Unfortunately mine froze during a firmware upgrade, 100% battery, through the Sony app. Don\'t decided to upgrade me to the WH-1000XM2, they suck! The noise cancellation during a phone call is non-existent, the person on the other side of the call can hear everything surrounding me. Every noise is heard and it baffles me as the noise cancellation during entertainment use is the best!!!
  • I love the headphone. It is a stylist, and good noise canceling. I wear it at my office work to cancel all the noise from other people cubical (Chair, Keyboard and talking). I would not hear anything once the noise cancellation is on with music about 30% volume. I use this at Coffee shop to do my studying. With the loud environment, I can say that It eliminated about 75% of the noise without music. With music on, it is eliminating about 90-95% depending on how loud you play music. I can wear this for 5 hours without noticed it is in my head. It does get warm, but it is not noticeable. Very comfortable to wear. It worth every penny. On the other hand, sell offer 12 months seller warranty. Moreover, they have excellent customer service so far. Thumb up to them.
  • Top competitor to Bose QC35... These have more features and a bit of a warmer (though flatter sound). Bose have slightly more bass, but sound more synthetic. I definitely enjoy listening to these more. Traveling with the Bose is slightly easier as the case is a bit more compact, but nothing beats the feature of the Sony\'s to be able to cup your hand over one ear and hear someone talking to you. That alone puts these over the top. These are well made and sound as good as anything in the 300-700 range.
  • first premium headphones I bought and I am really happy with the choice I made over Bose QC35. Lot of pros like touch control, selective NC or ambient sound(voice/normal), sound quality and premium design. My ear tends to get warm after just couple of hours and gets itchy and annoying. I may get used to it after couple of days though.I wish there was manufacturer warranty in US since these are imported from japan. Seller says, they will back with 1-year seller warranty which is as good as manufacturer\'s. Cheers!
  • Everything is good without rechargible cable.I am not convinced that this used good included rechargible cable or not, in any way i\'ve got a good quality of product and I like it.
